Any news on how the fella is doing?
Spoke to his daughter this morning who has told me he's still on the high dependency ward but might be transferred to a normal ward today. She said he's more of his normal self today and is eating ok. but he will require a second op on his leg on monday and will be a few days after that at least before they can think about transferring him back down here to stockport

Glad he is ok mate , he will be cutting shapes in Beedbury Hall by Easter !

None of us know the exact circumstances of what happened last night, so at this stage it'll be better if we all avoid speculation or any apportioning of blame.
Can we blame @hank williams ?

Thanks for that Glen. Sounds like a bit of progress.

Please keep us informed about how he's doing - if you don't mind.

Aye Karl it was top modding. But not always the case. I had a thread deleted the other day for no reason. I asked a mod the reason. Still waiting. Would love to know why, for future reference. @Pancho can you help?

It was a thread linking a government petition.
Have a look in your profile page.. that where you will probably find a message. if not ...a response from whoever pulled your thread would seem appropriate.

Would anybody like to pop in to visit Phil in hospital? He's in the RVI in Newcastle.

I have spoken to family and the hospital and they're are more than happy if fellow sunderland fans would like to pop in to see him.

Phil comes from Manchester but he chose Sunderland years ago as his team and he has travelled with the Manchester branch for years now, well before my time with the branch. He has no family at all in the North East, and his daughters are travelling on a daily basis to visit him, until he gets the all clear to be transferred back to Stockport.

Phil is in his late 60's and is a retired joiner. He is a very quiet bloke, but would appreciate if anybody was able to pop in for 5 mins and take him a newspaper, he enjoys a little flutter on the horses.

If anybody is willing or would like to do this, PM me and i will give you details of the ward and visiting times.

I'll have a chat with the lads who know him from the victory club & see if we can arrange a visit for later in the week.

If things don't go so well against Villa he may need cheering up tomorrow :)

I mean, what could be worse than being stuck in a Newcastle hospital and we lose?
