chris waters has tried a few times to get in touch with me but I keep missing him. Will let you know

chris just called me literally 1 min after posting. He has asked me to let him know when phil ' s first game back at the sol will be and the club will do something for him on that day
Great effort from the club.

I was in the North East yesterday to see family and called into the RVI to see Phil. He's in good spirits, especially when the Lads went 1-0 up at Arsenal, and is recovering slowly. They're going to try and get him on his feet tomorrow, but it may be another week before he is transferred back home. He's thanked everybody for their cards and best wishes

Great to hear that Phil is getting better, well done Manchester Branch and all the other MLF's who've rallied round Phil and helped him out.

This sort of thing makes me massively proud of our support.

Been to see Phil again today, who is still in the RVI, four and a half weeks after the accident. The nurses at the RVI are contacting our local hospital in Stockport daily. As soon as the one down here gives the green light he'll be transferred.

How will he be transferred mate, ambulance, taxi or what?

Great news mate.

Four and a half weeks in a hospital bed. Don't think it's anyones idea of fun, hope he gets back down home soon and closer to his family. I'm glad he's doing better than the last time I seen this thread. Get well soon Phil.

It'll be ambulance I'd imagine, they will probably have to in case of any problems.
My mother was taken from Manchester airport to Durham by taxi after being taken from a Spanish hospital by aircraft

Maybe it won't be then, it's just health and safety and all that I was thinking of, but maybe as your post about your mam says, it depends on a risk assessment or something.
I was wondering if the hospital angle on getting mates/family to do it as a cost saving measure.
