It's just so everything can have it's own little label to fit in within an easily absorbed form of information.

Of course both Newcastle players, incoming managers and fans don't help themselves by perpetuating it. Whether that it spin that has been put in front of players/managers by the PR people or not it's ill advised.

I agree with one of your examples and it isn't the ones regarding Stoke or Manchester United.
