Hes ripped them a new one before, and feels confident he can have another good game, I'd much rather see the players going into the season with a positive mindset rather than coming out and saying we should be happy if we keep the score down.

I was referring to the fact that I was happy to see a positive mindset from the players going into a game everyone knew we would probably lose.

Do you actually believe I was fully confident he would tear them a new one? The Cabella comment was obviously tongue in cheek as well.

That would be even worse man, letting a top class playmaker gan to your rivals, unless we are going to do 1 better and get slightly more quality then you have to assume we are in for shite again on the cheap.

If dick and congerton didn't want to spunk 15 mil on him and thought there was better value elsewhere then I'm happy with that.

It was congerton who badgered dick to stay, and they both seem to be working hand in hand on transfers unlike last season. Come the 1st September i think we will have a good summer.

I'd of been over the moon if we signed this lad but he looks destined for up the road. Good for them, but they've got a git massive gaping hole in their defence and no real goal threat. Until that's addressed I don't think they can piss themselves too much

Spot-on mate. Dick will know the lad better than anyone and if we've decided not to pursue it for that amount, Im more than happy to trust his judgement.

I've told you before mate, I believe fuck all you say. Ever since you called our lot devoid of ideas, plodders and that nothing but a win for you lot is acceptable, we have remained unbeaten in the following 4 games. I don't suppose you meant those comments either

Even if he wanted him we won't be paying £15m for anybody mate. I know it's doesn't mean much but the Sunderland Echo bloke saying lens and lombaerts are our big signing along with Downing or someone similar. Striker depends on fletcher or Graham leaving.

It's hardly the massive upgrade we all wanted. Certainly won't be £15m transfer fees getting paid.

I never believed the £50M warchest but I thought we might of brought in at least 1 top quality signing. Still time I know but passing up Wijnaldum is mad considering we need a quality playmaker in midfield. Looks like we are restricted more than we thought with FFP.

Considering the wage budget increase is capped at 70k pw it was always going to be an issue.
