If anyone on here actually knows how good Wijnaldum, Lens or Lambaerts actually is, then I take my hat off to you. I probably watch more football on tv than is healthy for me but I don't hang on every kick in the Dutch or Russian leagues.

It seems to me that buying players like this is a crap shoot.
 
Come on, all joking aside you lot would have been delighted if you were in our situation in regards to this signing, I won't lie I haven't seen anything other than Youtube clips and briefly for Holland but it's still an exciting and fairly high profile signing for us, and it would have been for you as well.

No idea whether you were in for him or not, but personally I'm happy with what seems a good signing.

Hopefully more to follow.

Fair play, at least you're honest. I would have been happy with him for exactly the same reasons.

But its probably best not to get too excited as previous "big names" havent exactly worked out as expected.

About 60k a week. Not a great deal. Maybe we're knacked by the FFP shite.

Guess we just weren't prepared to pay the dosh they wanted.
 
I don't know anything about the player, DWT did say Siem De Jong was a great signing and would tear Man City a new one at one time

Riviere
Gouffran

Have been disappointing thus far, but in terms of Anita and Cabella there's definite potential for improvement with better coaching and not being dropped for nowt every other game, get the distinct feeling Riviere and Gouffran are beyond coaching though and are just shite.

But none of them apart from Cabella really came with "big name" tag as such, unless you are talking about the days of Luque, Boumsong, Viana etc...

He is a good player by all accounts but has struggled massively with injuries, and I think I said that about Cabella actually, try to keep up.

true that, but in my defence, you alluded to it when you did say, the rest of us just laughed
Hes ripped them a new one before, and feels confident he can have another good game, I'd much rather see the players going into the season with a positive mindset rather than coming out and saying we should be happy if we keep the score down.
