Are you on or know anyone on the board? I personally know nothing about what Ellis Short is willing to pay for players.

If he does go there then they have a decent player and yes it will be a shame we didn't take it further but I just can't see us spending anywhere near that on one player. If we can get Lombaerts and Lens for that combined then the board will see this as a much better deal and we can then look to another midfield target with whatever budget they have. We obviously have a figure and 4-5 slots to fill. If/when we get these two over the line I think we will see further bids for some quality midfielders, hopefully somebody like Clasie or if not I can see us trying for Van Ginkel to fill that position and save the money for now.

Lens - 9m
Lombaerts - 6m
Clasie - 8m

That's 27m on 5 players, 3 of which will be guaranteed starters. We can then look to bring in a couple of loans to fill the gaps.

Irrelevant mate, the club may play a blinder but we both know the chances of that happening are slim.

An available quality target is up for grabs and we are nowhere to be seen as usual

We tend to ignore that price range and shop in the sub £10m one now......and only the very occasional one at that ceiling. It's a very tricky price range to buy in imo and as we've found out it's very easy to get it wrong.

Actually you're right, lens must be more of a regular, he's got more caps.

So I say it again are we not going for the better of the two!
 
from a good source actually nufc secretary that wijnaldum or what ever his name is will defo be a nufc player by the weekend ! Watch this space and the number 10 shirt , hope he's a huge fekin failure !
