What do you get out of coming on here and being an arsehole @Mrjardine ? Are you like this in person?? Its very boring viewing loads of threads where its you v about 20 posters.

Still skirting the regular in the international side question I see. Too predictable bonny lad.
Nothing to debate regarding that as he was. The Italy side he was playing for (although not part of World Cup squad) got knocked out at sane stage as England so obviously wasn't a great Italian side he was part of. What I'm challenging is the comment about him being a key player for Juve. He wasn't.

boring old man , get some new material lad , you pm'd apologising to me :lol: creased
I know because I was rude when all you had done was come and ask for a bit advice. I should be better than that.
Has that bird who binned you took ya back by the way? Ya never did tell me.

We're not talking about f***ing San Marino here ffs, I'd say Italy are a well respected footballing nation wouldn't you? Plus we're talking about Juve not Accrington Stanley! Do you or do you not agree that when we signed him it was quite a coup for the club at the time? That's all I want to know.

This article suggests that either Dick and Congers were totally deluded in thinking this lad was a realistic target or that this lad and/or his agent are totally deluded about his ability. I hope for our sake it's the latter.

It was a signing that I was reasonably excited about but when you look at it in cold light of day it wasn't as if he was a superstar.
We signed a lad from inter Milan last season as well who was playing for argies. I wouldn't consider that a coup either.

Why is Wijnaldum so different though? Hes not exactly a galactico.

Wijnaldum is no superstar

Looking back now I agree to some extent, easy in hindsight, but at the timetheres no denying his signing was an impressive one for the club.

Perhaps not but given he's already turned down a move to PSG in past it suggests his aspirations are a little higher than a bottom end premier league club mind.
I know this kind of talk doesn't suit but I just tend to deal in realism as oppose to fantasy.

Like I said I was quite excited by it at time but when look at it now it wasn't really that big a deal really.
Don't recall him being courted by other big clubs like wijnaldum is and given he's already had PSG at his door it's pretty safe to say that sunderland or the mags who were also linked would be even remotely on his agenda

Can't see the problem with us going for Wijnaldum like, or why it's being seen by some as completely unrealistic. We'd be offering bigger wages, playing in a league that is televised all over the world increasing the exposure you get and would be playing against 4 champions league sides every season. Just sell the move as a stepping stone and chuck a minimum release fee in for clubs in Champions league .

You talk of realism and balance but thats utter bollocks. If you were genuinely balanced and realistic you would make concessions when people bring up valid points instead of shoving your fingers deeper into your ears.

If you were balanced, you would argue both sides, but currently you only seem to make an appearance to either:
1. Argue against popular opinion
2. Make snide digs at Sunderland

I can understand that delusion can be annoying but by positioning yourself the complete polar opposite only proves that 2 wrongs dont make a right.

Jardine had never ever heard of Wijnaldum until we were linked. Obviously now that PSG are in for him we never had a chance and all Sunderland supporters who believed we might have a chance are absolute fools. Idiots. We always had a chance with Giaccerini, Johnson and Alvarez, he knew that. Just like we knew we never ever had a chance to sign this player he'd never heard of. Anyone who thought otherwise are absolute ***** who he now mocks.

What an absolute tit that lad is.

What other big clubs conpeted with us for their signatures?

1. I agree with many things on here bit in those cases a like is sufficient. No need to debate those points.
2. I get abuse right left and centre because I don't salivate over every little thing regarding our club yet I get pulled up on snide digs?

Haway man.
