Why? The money was raised for a reason with the excess going to charity. The plane is paid for, it will be going ahead. That's why people donated.
However, that means you are free to donate whatever you can afford safe in the knowledge your whole donation will go to charity. I'll be only to pleased to thank you on here when you do so...
