Just a bit of harmless fun. Nee one likes the mags anyway and its for a good cause. Win, win if you ask me.

They'll be gutted about this no doubt about it.

Nobody expects anyone to be donating that sort of money for a bit of a laugh.

Enough people are donating small amounts that we will reach our goal anyway.
Before the thread was deleted, he said as I have only put a tenner in, I am not serious about it. Therefore none of us are.

If all points have been made, why should only people you disagree with not add anything more, but you can?

I've kept quiet on this thread, but shouting down anyone who thinks it's a bad idea (or calling them mags) just shows how pathetic some people are.

I disagree strongly with the idea, but respect those who don't. It looks like you're getting money, so well done on that.

Believe it or not, some of the people who disagree are Sunderland supporters just like you!

FTM (just not on a banner!)

To be fair the thread is to try and raise money for it so obviously those who support the idea should continue to comment and bump it to try and further that aim whereas those who are against it are merely restating their complaints about it, all of which have been covered and discussed in excruciating length already. Hence they aren't adding anything to the thread by continuing to moan whereas those who are supportive are adding to it by continuing to request donations

Far better put than my post.

This thread is trying to raise money for a jape and charity, can you two not use pm's ffs.

£3,000 for a joke that could backfire if results go against us and to be timed two weeks after the event is a bit steep in my opinion.

For a joke to work, timing and punchiness is everything and two weeks after is just too long. For that reason I'm out, though I respect what you're trying to do.

We're also telegraphing what we're doing to the mags who'll no doubt be reading this. It would not surprise me if they're ready (if they've sufficient imagination) with a witty and punchy riposte of their own at a fraction of the cost.

OK, it's on! :)

The bloke from Blackpool had his dates mixed up, he's free to do it on the 19th. He say he loves doing football grounds.

He's going to send me all the details in the morning, I can pay £200 deposit (which is already in my bank), then the balance next Thursday.

Flying high, up in the sky...

I was not bothered about it until an hour ago...the simpletons on here have helped the fund.

It's nowhere near 3k. About 900 isn't it?

Great news, I think it would have been more embarrassing to start something like this and then to have failed. Just like the Mags did.

It's their first home game since the derby. It's costing £960 with any surplus going to charity. Get your facts somewhere near right, cheers.

Can we have a sub thread for all the miserable twats to grumble and moan about how much a bad idea this is?

From a light hearted thread being a canny read has suddenly turned into Keith being the next Bin Laden plotting a 9/11 style terror attack On sid James Park.

Some people really, REALLY need to lighten up and wind their necks in.

Is this just a bit of fun? Yes.

No need to get frustrated by it all.

It already exists but it is on the Newcastle forums.

To be fair, it's a discussion board, so reasonable discussion should be allowed on both sides on any argument.

I agree people shouldn't spam threads (which is why I've tried to limit my involvement) but there has been some serious intolerance of ANY objections on this thread (including by a Mod)

Fair play to those doing it, I'll just try and read with interest and not interject anymore.
