I don't think so. IF he's fit and well he offers far more movement that the others and will get into places that the others don't. Johnson, Larsson, Giaccherini and Alvarez will all be able to provide service to him.

He has a pedigree that none of our other strikers have but it has to be asked how he will fit into our current 'system' . It seems like such a random signing on both parts .

Defoe has never shown any desire to move north really, never mind the north east.
