Reckon he'll be quick for another couple of years at least. Hope so anyway.
 
Despite what this clueless spurs idiot says, Defoe would be a very good signing for SAFC.

It would give us a fighting chance of actually scoring the odd goal and pushing up the league. The alternative is far worse.

Oh aye I'm not saying he's suddenly turned into a slouch, I just don't think he's rapid or anything. He's always been lightening over a few yards/on the turn, not necessarily that quick if he was chasing a long ball as you mentioned.

I'm happy with it like, don't blame people for getting carried away either, we've had sweet nothing to get excited over this season.
 
I think we need two more signings along with Defoe to really ensure we're not in a relegation dog fight come the end. We still have a domestic loan left which should be used. I'd love to see us try sign Januzaj or take a punt on Scott Sinclair. I also think it's so important we start playing Giaccherini centre midfield to be what Ki was for us last season. We've done business early with Defoe, why not a few more through the door by February 1st?

If its a straight swap fee and wages, between Defoe and Altidore, Congerton deserves a raise like!

He's not though. Not on the evidence of the last game. I think Cattermole is better to be honest. The problem with us letting Ki and Colback go is they were solid passers. We miss that fluidity in the centre. If only Rodwell could show us something like that. Maybe there's something like Ki in him if he's ever fully fit. Very frustrating at times. I don't hate Gomez like some and I realise he's the best at picking out a forward pass but he's miles too slow and carries the ball in a really slow way too. Ki was by far the best at that furthest forward midfield role.
