Aye, seems like we've been the club to push through the deal. Mirror reporting the finances of the deal. How accurate that is I reckon we'll never know. But, Refreshing to see that we've actually paid top dollar for someone who is guaranteed to improve us imo. That would of been written before this broke I imagine, I trust Dave Jones
£80k a week for three and a half years is £14560000. We aren't paying £14million transfer fee AND £80k a week.14 million and 80 thousand is ridiculous if true! Im staggered by that!
14 million includes the wages over 3 years.14 f***ing million for a 32 yr old - Jesus.

Problem is the teams he's played for have always provided quality service at their respective levels. If our midfield who's made every striker we've had the last 2 years look like shit, you bet defoe won't be something out of the ordinary. Note he was also prone to injury in TFC.Just checked his stats and he averages a goal every 2.3 games over his career. That's what you pay top dollar for.
The 14m is the wages marra, so once offset against the departing Jozy, it probably equates to less then 2m extra a season.
It very much fits with our policy of shipping out a player before bringing a new one in.

So is this a Poyet signing or a Congerton signing?
I am mostly a half glass full person, just dont see signing a striker as the answer to our problems.Wallow in misery would be more appropriate
