It's not like we're going to give Defoe a cheque for 14 million the day he signs though is it? We're paying him a wage that will be spread out over the period of his contract, and he is better than anything we've got up front at the moment. As for the circumstances, if it means Jozy fucks off, he's worth every f***ing penny in my eyes.

yeah, because our lack of goals is down to fletcher/wickham missing chance after chance created by our midfield...do people honestly believe defoe is the answer to our problems.

In all seriousness, if this is happening it's a good signing. He will relish being a big fish and the main striker for us. Could get a really good couple of seasons out of him if he looks after himself.
