Aye, I know mate. As I said, feeble attempt at humour. But Jozy's only 25 and we've been stuck with that fucker for 18 month. I think I'd rather have a geriatric Defoe that's getting his pension than seeing Altidore play for us again.
 
@TheRealAmitS: Jermaine Defoe going to Sunderland and Jozy Altidore coming to Toronto in return.. Not a bad deal, Altidore is much younger.

Good signing, shifting Jozy and getting a lad who has scored literally more than 100 times as many goals as him in this league...

Question is how fit will he be? MLS pre-season begins next weekend I believe. I know he's been training with Spurs u21s but he's not going to be razor sharp so I'd be surprised if got anything more than the arse-end of the Spurs game if he appears at all this weekend.

Its all over twitter that its confirmed,with one snag for Toronto that Altidore has to go thru allocation but that doesn't affect Defoe to Sunderland.
 
if he does sign whos going to knock the ball down for him hes a goal scorer not a maker to light weight for that job .but i would have him on board we need goals .going by the way some fans speak on here we have no strikers good enough so whats the next step to supply defoe if he signs ..

we buy a player with an excellent pedigree (ticks all the boxes) and still you denigrate the club.

A striker or defoe is simply not the answer imo. Don't see how he will fit in out system at all, we aren't creating chances for Defoe to score.

I don't rate this 32 year old as much as most on here but it's not my money and he is better than altodore.

His wages could be catastrophic if we got into real trouble.

The idea that Brown is a liability is just plain wrong.

He makes the odd mistake (and usually it's a really awful one) but most of the time he's as solid as you get. He's getting on now age-wise but I think he has been an incredibly talented defender throughout his career and deserves praise.
