How much bother is there on Derby day anyway? Those who want to fight will fight regardless and probably have there meeting place sorted all ready. They are the tits who should be locked in a room together until they've eaten each other.
Does that actually happen anymore?

I might be a bit naive, but don't think anybody has "firms" or "meet ups" these days. Any bother will be just people getting carried away on the day.
In that case the same as any other Derby day? There's always scuffles, let's hope the media and police don't blow it out of proportion.

I can just imagine Dawn Thewlis smug voice reporting on Derby day mayhem caused by unruly SAFC supporters hell bent on destroying the jewel of the North East.

We'll see. If you're not wearing colours, and aren't looking for trouble, you don't need an escort. You just blend in with the crowd and could be anyone.

See my post above mate. I'm assuming it was a Mag who tried to nut me outside of Central Station. None of the people involved had colours on. I think they'd been in the pub watching it & came out cos they knew loads of us had left early. The match was still going on.

Fair enough mate. I'm sure there can be instances of wrong place, wrong time. But generally, if people want to avoid trouble, they can IMO.
