Would you want Cattermole to be successful for England?

You lot are really funny at times. On the back of a park the bus performance where you show little ambition to leave your box never mind your half you think he should be considered for England. Tiote has more chance of a call up from Woy.

Aww I'm gutted mate.

Both of these statements are entirely your opinion. they may seem like a waste of time to you, but they certainly aren't to the people of these nations, who otherwise won't get to feel the pride of seeing their nation compete on the global stage. I am not a keen international sports fan, but I appreciate the importance these games have to the vast majority of people around the world. You are very much in the minority in thinking that international football is worthless.

In the world cup I very much enjoyed watching some of the smaller nations play against some of the bigger ones, it made for some interesting games with more than a few upsets. What right do we have to say which games are important and which aren't? You could apply the same logic to the premier league, and say there are only a handful of teams worth watching, and so we shouldn't let the rest of the teams compete. It makes no sense.

Also, as a side note, your use of the term 'foreign donkeys' makes you sound like a total arse

I'm not even bothered about watching england, never mind countries who struggle to find eleven players.
I have almost zero interest in international football and it boils my piss when the proper football has to stop for a fortnight for pointless games. International football shouldn't be allowed to spoil the season.
If they must do it then let the f**kers do it in their own time in the close season.

If you had a poll(pole:)) if people preferred another sunderland game or the international break i bet i wouldn't be in a small minority.

Canny feather in his cap and increases his value for the club. But on the downside, what's in it for us supporters?
  • Risk of injury
  • Bids we cant refuse from a big club
  • Cattermole cant handle the pressure and loses form (happens to a lot of players who get capped)
  • Pay rise demands

It's a no for me.
I've got news for you, even if he doesn't play for England but keeps up that kind of form there will be bids we can't refuse anyway.

Every other team sport international teams are more important than club sides, football should follow the blueprint of other sports such as cricket and rugby and central contract players and rest them so they are fresh for the important football like World Cups etc.

Might actually give us a chance of finishing somewhere other than middle table or below:D

Of course it will never happen as the premier league is all about money first and foremost where other sports put the prestige of winning for country first.

A poll of Sunderland fans maybe, but certainly not of everyone else who watches football. The premier league isn't the be all and end all of football. It's a big big world out there. Also:

"Countries who struggle to find 11 players"

What the fuck are you on about man. Utter drivel :lol:

If you had a general poll of who would prefer an international break or a standard Premier League weekend i think you'd be very disappointed.

There's some f**king shite national teams from small nations. They serve no competitive purpose apart from risking injury to professional sportsmen. Meaningless games.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. To me, the idea of calling any international game 'meaningless' is arrogant and inconsiderate of the people of the nations in question, but there you go

given the non stop wankathon he had over colback his disdain for 'foreign donkeys' is both ironic and hyocritical

They're all meaningless to me. Even the ones that aren't supposed to be meaningless.
I don't want to put any sunderland players at risk for international duty during their professional careers.

As i said, either let them do it after they've retired as part of a Masters Tournament or even restrict it to amateurs.
International breaks spoil the competitive football season.

You keep saying the same thing to me and expect a different reply:

"They're all meaningless to me"

This is the point. They are meaningless to you. Your opinion. Not the general opinion. An opinion I consider bat-shit insane.

sick of absolute dross getting called up to the England squad based upon reputation or who they play for

would be nice to see someone rewarded based upon actual form

it's never going to happen like
are you saying this with a straight face? If cattermole was to be called up for England and actually wear the shirt it would be a sad sad state of affairs. I'm not saying we have any better, I don't particularly agree that Colback should be anywhere near, and when Taylor was called up........Shit the bed!!!
