Our crowds can't increase a whole lot, the same with ticket prices. Increased tv appearances = negligible.

We need to sort the scouting and recruiting of players out as that is the single most important way of saving/making money. Why you leave that blame solely at Ellis's door when he's clearly trying to sort this issue out is beyond me.

Why did you not refer to the debt part of my post?

Our turnover over 4 years can increase by £20million for a handful of places, for even 8 places it'd be £40million.
Our crowds can increase with demand. This goes hand in hand with more affluent support making up the numbers along with more high profile sponsors. Add on increased money from corporates.

As i said, any moderate investment in players isn't dead money. The financial rewards are there and in place for anyone showing moderate ambition. Most true businessmen would see proper investment as a means to make money. They are the sort of businessmen who are confident in their decision making as regards to football ownership and management. Ellis just bumbles from crisis to crisis. He's become scared to dip into his vast fortunes because he knows he's completely out of his depth.

I was there and we were bloody magnificent today (as per).

Still singing in the ground in excess of 5-10mins after fulltime.

I, for one, was completely locked into watching the match on TV... didn't even go on SMB and get distracted. Felt I was fully on my fan game today. Shame the players can't get it done like us sometimes.

So Ellis is a bad business man?

He dips into his vast fortune every year.

Love how you equate running a football club like you would a housing portfolio or some such like.

As for attracting more affluent fans, well, I'm not gonna bother with that whatsoever.

Ellis is a successful Hedge Fund Manager. That qualifies him to say he's very good at managing hedge funds but absolutely f**k all to do with football clubs.
There are many different types of businesses so you're very ill advised to umbrella them under one roof. Some are better suited to loners or recluse types, others more suited to out going man management types.

You talk about turnover. Turnover is what Ellis thinks about and prioritises over success. It increases with team success as all parts of the ground are full, including the most expensive seats. I used the term affluent to include corporate types and minor sponsors. They affect our turnover significantly.

This always baffles me when I here this. Believe me they can.
We could sell out the Sol at best imo.

We are losing money every year. Explain this.

Poor management/ownership decisions. Buying bad players. Compensation to sacked managers/DOF's who've failed, giving away prize assets to our rivals for free, paying "bargain buy" flops to flounder in the reserves. That's just for starters.

Our revenue/income could be significantly higher for a relatively small additional investment. The fans are great and go into their support whole heartedly.
We are being run on a half hearted basis. As a percentage of their disposable income i'd bet every single one of the 3,000 supporters there today were into it deeper than Ellis. He's a half hearted Texas Billionaire with a wholehearted support. They deserve better.

He half-heartedly gave us 20m quid last year to cover shortfalls on the balance sheet.
Same as the season before.

The percentage income thing is completely irrelevent to any discussion.

I don't think they do take the fans for granted and of course they'll give a fuck.
The players are always saying how much the fans matter, and the club have tried loads lately to help keep fans happier. Of course decent football would be the best they can give, but I'm sure they want it to improve as much as we do.

Much of that £20million was down to his own stupidity.
Without more wholehearted commitment the gap in the balance sheet will get wider, not closer. This is a business for the brave, not the half hearted.

Which bits were down to his stupidity?

Ohhh our managers gustavo,
Boss of sunlun afc,
And yes hes fuckin uraguayin,
But he dont bite so thats alright for me.

He employs people who aren't very good at running a football club. That doesn't mean they're totally incompetent or unable to do any job in the wider community, they're just not equipped or life experienced enough to do the job required at a high profile Premier League football club.
He allowed himself to be duped by De Fanti, that alone could be the Oxford English Dictionary definition of stupidity. If he believed even a quarter of the shite De Fanti then he's beyond f**king stupid.

He employed people who allowed contracts to expire with no re-sale. That would be stupid enough but someone gave an initial contract that ended just outside the compensation date. Complete and utter incompetence.

When you look at the likes of Blackburn (Venky's) and Leeds, it could be a whole lot worse.
Absolutely this! It'll concern me a bit when Ellis comes to sell up as to who he'll sell to. He'll just sell to the highest bidder, I doubt he'll go the Bob Murray route of only selling to someone who has the clubs best interests at heart.
