If the ball fails to reach the goalkeepe or reach the goalline, it isn't a shot. A shot on target is a shot which either provides a goal or requires the prevention of 1 via a save. A deflection is not a save, and if it was even, the deflection took the ball no further off target, it simply looped it up.

.. it is only a shot on target if the player who deflects it is the last man, if the keeper's behind it does not count as a shot on target .. check what it says on Opta and if you check out the stats on both the BBC and Sky you will see that they both say 0 shots .. if your still not convinced then best of luck to you ..

What the fuck are you going on about now? Seriously.

.. naw .. you'd struggle to get it ..

was going to watch but needed a nanna nap instead. bloke on facebook (i know) reckons the mags had them 'arll owa', any element of truth in that or was it his black and white tinted specs?

.. sorry .. my bad .. there's only one fella who desperate to give the mags a shot on target ..
Let's recap. One poster, not me, said the stats he saw had given one shot on target to Newcastle. I questioned whether it could have been one particular incident, hence the question marks. It transpired that it wasn't, fair enough. I questioned what a particular scenario is classed as. You ignored that I wasn't talking about the Newcastle game anymore. The other poster cleared it up in one sentence. You continue to piss your knickers over something that isn't there.

We played one of the worst teams in the league away and managed a point - they played one of the best teams (if not THE best) at home and got beat - in other words we learn't nothing from the opening games.

.. I told you it would have to be the last man to deflect the ball in order for it to be classed as a shot on target, you came out with some sh1te. I told you to check Opta, you can read can't you .. it really doesn't get any simpler than that .. I couldn't' be arsed to put a link up to Opta for you. I wondered if you could work that bit out for yourself. Seems you couldn't ..
