Does anybody hate the mags?

No. As I live in the North East and work in Newcastle, some of my best mates are Mags and frankly I know them much better than most of the folk know each other on here. If it came to it and they got grief at the match, I would absolutely look out for them.

That said, the Mags do have a fair number of clownshoes in their ranks ;)

Cracks me up this gravy stained, inbred, unwashed craic (both sides) when in reality most will work together, most live within a 20 mile radius, both sets of supporters will feature in various friendship groups. I don't like to see the team do well and do like seeing them lose, but really, apart from 2 days a season they aren't too relevant to me. Both generally passionate fans, who really love their football.

These oh so reasonable ones...anyone noticed how none of them actually go to the matches now?
Were they at Roker in 87 for the Gillingham match? Ever been ambushed by Mags at the central station? Ever lived on Tyneside.
These chicken fuckas know nothing about SAFC or the culture of being a Sunderland fan.
Not saying that violence is good, but fuck me, they hate us so we hate them back. The rest is just bluster by the non committed and the bewildered.

Best not to hate anyone ... surely a lesson learned recently ... life's too short :)

Can't stand the delusional ones who think that because they finished second almost 20 years ago they're somehow entitled to challenge for the title now.
What if you added in the 2 top 4 finishes just over 10 years ago and 5th a few years ago? Surely then it's more justified? Fans of a club like Newcastle should be thinking about it and demanding it. Football's about dreams and if you ain't got a dream, how can your dream come true?

Bloke is a berk and wants putting out of our misery.

What you gannin on about, of course we hate the mags!

if your on about the fund to raise money for those two poor fellas that died then thats totally different.

I do have two close mag mates but come derby day we fuckin hate each other and i hate all there kind.
Well, this is just absolute bollocks. You don't hate the mags and you don't hate your mates on derby day. If you did, you'd want to harm them and you've never seriously thought about that.

Clearly, anyone who did really hate the mags(with all that hate implies) would have been totally against the fund launched to support the 2 fans that died in the plane crash and would have welcomed their deaths.

I suppose those fans do exist, even on here, but have enough awareness to realise that those views are akin to supporting The Holocaust.

I was at the gillingjam game with my old man. I was even chased down roker baths road off a few of them following a 1-1 draw (iirc) about 1991/2ish (again iirc). The difference being I know that they have a few bellends who follow them much like we have but also know that the majority much like us are good lads.
I take it what you mean by the gillingham game is that they had a few in the ground supporting the gills that day is that correct? Have a look at the mercantile classic thread and you'll see that our supporters that day having lost to Wigan decided to Jump In with the tranmere fans to support them against our nearest and dearest!
This whole they are evil and we are somehow holier than thou just doesn't wash with me or anybody else with a half decent headpiece I'm afraid.

Tranmere versus Newcastle was before we lost to Wigan though (iirc) as I left the stadium as soon as we lost . I know, I was there and in the Tranmere section. There the comparison didn't even start. The Mags came to dance on our graves; Wembley was a kickabout that no one cared about.
I have lived on Tyneside for 30 years of my life too? You?
Yet again you end with the intelligence route. Seemingly though, despite this enormous self declared intellect, you cannot process how things actually are rather than a utopian dream you crave.
Clueless isn't a strong enough word to describe you.

Two questions for Biffo the mag.
1. What are you doing, its 7 o' clock in the morning and on rivals message board.
2. How do you feal re your plastic "fans"? Grown men changing their football team, it doesn' t get much worse than that for me.
Blimey, do you get out much apart from the football!

I expect you took Bill Shankly literally with his musings on football.

Why should fans of a 'club like Newcastle ' demand it? What gives them the god-given right to success exactly? They've won nowt and done nowt for about 50 years.

Why should they have the right to feel more entitled to success than a club like, say, Wigan or Birmingham both of which have more recent success than Newcastle have.

My best mate is a Mag. I've known him since 1981, he's had my back ever since - especially Falklands, Gulf & numerous other toilet towns around the globe. They're not all bad lads ;)

I love reading these "one upmanship" posts. You think you're a real fan because you got chased down the road after some inconsequential game over 20 years ago, and have some insight into the rivalry? Well, let me tell you, son, I was given a book on creative writing for Christmas and still don't really understand it.

There are Sunderland fans who hate each other far more than they could ever hate mags.

Me?
Not me who said I got chased down the road.It was the other poster.
If you cannot understand your book though this will be why you misunderstood the post too.
