Borini

Don't know if this is Seb but my take is that Liverpool's players who took part in the World Cup may still be on holiday, Talksport confirmed this morning that Gerard is def on holiday. Maybe Liverpool need Borini to make up the numbers for the tour ?
Or maybe he wants to fight for his place.

Or they didn't ask the question.

It was the same wih Robbie Keane. half of our squad had spent the summer with him at the world cup, including Quinny who was his striker partner & had just been named our first team coach.

We'd been rumoured to have been after him for a long time so when we had the bid accepted I thought it'd have been a foregone conclusion as there was no way we'd have wasted our time chasing him if he wasn't interested. He wasn't.

We need to get a definite answer out of Borinis camp ASAP, if he's not interest, so for other targets. Welbeck would be top of my list.
That really would take the biscuit with regards negligence, don't you think walesie?

I always get the feeling that SAFC work this way, whether true or not:eek::lol:

As i said before, the likes of Redknapp or Fergie would have been speaking to the player before even making an official bid!

I do ponder if the same £14m bid could be made for Hernandez - Got laughed out of the office for saying it, but who knows. Here we go again!

Agree, I think we try and do things above board but end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

One part of me is thinking i dont think it will come off and fair play to Fabio, he wasnts to stay and fight at Liverpool. So move on.

The other part of me is thinking that surely he will sign, because SAFC couldnt be so f***ing useless, incompetent and naive as to make a £14m bid for a player without having had any form of conversation with the player or advisers and know he wants to come. Would they??

FFS, deals break down due to medicals, wages etc....but no fucker ever looses out on a player any more cos they make a bid for a player who has nee interest and they didnt ask!!

Poor from the club imo if we have been pursuing a player who has no intention to even join us (if reports are true obviously)

 Hows that like? How do you know what Fabio Borini's intentions are or have been?

Just seen the bit in brackets but the point still stands. Maybe Borini told Sunderland he would consider moving back...

I think there are a lot of people just refusing to admit that he might not want to come, it is alright saying we need to take our time with him, but we don't have loads of time. We need to get our team sorted, as at the minute we don't have one.

Hopefully he will still come, but Poyet and Co need to get tough, make their pitch, this is our offer, do you want to come, yes or no.

Like I said if he's said that it's obviously not our fault but you would think surely before negotiating around our biggest transfer of the summer we would find out if the player has an interest.

You never know, it may be the case that the deal is very much still on and this is just rumor - so I don't want to get carried away, but you're right that if current speculation is true he has rejected the offer, SAFC will rightly have egg on their face. Ellis Short must be wondering what on earth he has done to warrant a back office staff so inept at running a football club

This whole Borini thing is becoming very tedious, everytime i go to the toilet and check the board it changes; he is coming, he's not, agent says no, God it's infuriating! JUST DECIDE AND PUT US OUT OF OUR MISERY!!! If he doesn't want to be here then fcuk him and get someone else in!

I would hope that a man who earns a living as a journalist would do a little more research than that but who knows...

True enough. But by the same token, he's the only journalist who's mentioned it so far. If the report was confirmed, surely there would be more local journos on both sides talking about it? Ah well, let's see how it pans out.

Of course they wouldn't!! We are a professional and well run club as much as many on here love to dispute it based on no knowledge or understanding of what goes on behind closed doors. Just an apparent inherent dislike and self loathing of all things SAFC.

It makes me smile when I read all the arm chair experts saying how managers are tactically inept but it really makes me laugh when people think they know better when it comes to the overall running of a club - pomposity in the extreme.
