So what does all this mean. It appears that Fabio is not exactly keen on coming back to sunderland. His word and his actions appear to point to this. He is not the be all and end all that some posters seem to be indicating. For up to 14 million pounds surely we have a choice of replacements. We need to give him a few days deadline to accept or get lost. Same with Alonso, rumours seem to say Danny Rose is available with Hull preparing a bid of 6 million. Would we sign him for that. Bloody oath we would. We need players in place promptly and if they overly play games with us about signing on then we need to move on. There are lots of available players out there. The cost is not relevant to supporters. Results are and the Club need to provide a viable exciting team to warrant the amazing support and financial input from the supporters which keep this club relevant.

:-O That would have been ridiculous!

This whole thread is getting ridiculous.

Its been stated numerous times he was going on the US tour regardless whether our bid was accepted or not. He wont be needed for negotiations other than to sign on the dotted line if we agree terms with his agent. He doesn't need to look around the place first and if Poyet needs to speak with him he'll pick up the phone. There's absolutely nothing to see here, nowts changed.

There is always a danger in targeting 3 or 4 players for weeks when none of them want to come (or their clubs won't play ball) . You are left with egg on your face and panic buying. See previous seasons.

Well to me,once he stepped foot on that plane,we should have immediately pulled out of the deal and moved on.

When he walked the tarmac, turned and headed up the steps on to the plane, he turned his back on this club and the fans who supported him. He'd do well to remember that. As is though we can do without players who clearly have major attitude problems.

We need players in and at least Borini knows the club. But I agree with concerns raised - firstly, the £14m price tag is way over his real value. Liverpool sign Remy for £8.5m, that's the comparison we should be looking at! And it's also clear that he wanted a shot at playing for Liverpool - that shot clearly is being denied him given the signings that they have made. There's a real danger that he comes to us and lives off his kick backs from the transfer fee and no doubt exorbitant wages, the contract setting him up for life, and doesn't bother putting in a shift for us. Once you realise you won't make a decent player in a top 4 side surely the ambition drops off and you don't look to stretch yourself as a player?

Too many people think it's Football Manager. Poyet said at Saturday tea-time that we were waiting for some paperwork before proceeding so I'd guess we'll start talking to his representatives today and it'll take a day or two to sort. If Borini had said he wasn't interested formally I reckon we would have heard from SAFC by now. I'm still pretty confident he'll come.

The offer would never have been made in the first place, of course he's coming!

^this, he can jump on a flight and be here quickly if things are agreed. His agent will do most of the deal anyway

For the 100th time Remy has a release clause

Only if you have no ambition or confidence in your own ability.

He'll probably have a flight put on for him the second its a goer (if it is). All the bed wetters saying we should walk away need to give their head a shake. We'd have nobody in the squad if we just walked away at the first sight of trouble. All part of the negotiations.

struggling to care with this tbh, if he joins, class.... If he doesn't atleast it means we have 14million.

I was worrying we had feck all to spend.
