Something needs to change though. This new breed need some direction and the old guard and just dragging them down. Jimmy and Broad need a East, Cook needs a break and Prior looks shot

There's no easy answer that's for sure but I don't think discarding all of the experienced players at once is the way to go. I would keep Cook, Broad and Anderson in - they are quality players out of form. I would sack Cook from the captaincy and get Buttler in for Prior. If Panesar could get anywhere near to sorting his act out he should be a shoo in.

Agree. Just think our two strike bowlers are causing huge problems at the moment

I quite like Lyth at Yorkshire - always looked a class player but had a poor season last year. Scoring 100s for fun this year and has the added bonus of being English. I'm not sure about Robson. Also disappointed Morgan hasn't pushed his case, he's strong mentally, scores quickly ( we have too many one paced batsmen) but he just isn't in any sort of form to be considered.

I wonder if the KP decision is now biting us on the arse....?

Do you think they have been playing too much?
Not sure what the problem is. Broad doesn't look fit and Jimmy looks knackered but does that stop them from putting the ball on a good length and bowling to the field they have set? Maybe they are jaded from the winter and could do with sitting out a couple of games. Bowling short with the new ball, then having 6 men on the ropes to tailenders was criminal. We will lose this test because of Broad and Anderson wasting every new ball we have had in the game

There is defo summat wrong like. I can't put me finger on it either.

Do you think the have subconsciously given up on cook? Totally agree about the new ball and the lengths they been bowling.

Well England crickets teams have traditionally mirrored the form of their captain. The pressure of (no) runs is weighing down on Cook and therefore the team. The battering they took in the winter (albeit with some good bowling performances) must have had an effect on them. They are getting done my mind games in the field now - letting a little shit like Jadeja get under their skin in kids play

Problem is who replaces them? I like both Finn and Jordon, but not sure if theyre ready

What we need are bowlers capable of bowling line and length - we have been outbowled by Sri Lanka and India this summer with average bowlers putting the ball in the right areas. I'd be tempted to pull a couple of guys out of the county game who can do just that (we have history of doing just that with Bicknell and Sidebottom). I don't think Finn or Jordan can do that, I wouldn't rule out going back to Bresnen for one of the slots. Is Onions still injured?

Please do start, i'm interested to know your views. I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he can put the ball on teh same spot 6 times an over. That is better than Broad or Anderson have done so far this summer
