Remy & Origi both joining Liverpool in the next day or two. Gonna be well down the pecking order.
Not sure if the belgian lad is going back on loan, but itd still leave Remy, Lambert, Sturridge ahead of him.
Plus maybe another.

He must be very very confident in his own ability if he stays. And we know he is that tbh

Cant believe he has doubts over our ambition.just sign the contract with the 40% pay cut/relegation clause ffs.

They might play him as a left winger.

One report saying that SAFC expected to speak to him before the friendlies on Saturday but Liverpool didn't give written permission in time, then both teams had games, then he left for the USA.

Seems shrewd on the part of Rodgers, not letting him go before they have other players on board. Apparently Gus wants it done ASAP and will speak to Borini today.

Nor can I to be honest. What more of an indication do you need FFS? When a player prefers to travel with his club to half way around the world than discus terms then you know you have lost him. Bit hard for him to discus terms with Poyet from another continent.
Three points, Liverpool have a track record of agreeing a fee for a player and then taking him on a foreign trip before the transfer is concluded, borini has an agent to do the negotiations and they do have a telephone system in the states.

On a completely unrelated matter, I see that Ben Davies has left Swansea's tour of the States and flown back to the UK to complete his move to Spurs.

I agree, if only someone had invented the phone or the internet.:(

Or, the footballers agent.;)

Maybe, just maybe Liverpool, despite being happy to sell him, need him to go to the USA with them so didn't give us the written permission we need to talk to him before they left. And let's imagine for a minute that Fabio actually does want to come and Liverpool's actions explain why he appeared a bit unhappy over the weekend and also his tweet, which could be interpreted as sarcastic. The press might just be putting two and two together and coming up with seven, much the same as many on here.

Clutching at straws? Yes. Searching for positives? Definitely. But let's see what the next few days bring before we totally write this one off.

Part of me thinks it never was gonna happen, on borini's part anyway.
Is the correct answer. wishful thinking only on our part. Ive been saying that in various forms for weeks while all the head in the clouds brigade were off getting Borini T-shirts. Never going to happen in a million years.

Big test now for Congerton, as we've very publicly nailed our colours to the mast.

I wish I could nail Congerton to the mast! We are no better at signing players under him that we were under Di Fanta or whatever his name is.

Saying on sky sports news that he wants to stay and fight for a place at Liverpool

They were saying it last night also. Sad day for SAFC. Oh well, we need to now move on from this sad affair and try to think of someone else. We should not be looking there but Championship and League One are perhaps our best chance of finding someone who is enthusiastic about wanting to sign for us.

Whatever it is and whoever it is they need to get on with it - off to Portugal soon and were in a worse position than last season

Yes because sky sports is a bastion of truth.

I remember we signed Borini on the last day of the window as Sess left. No one rated Borini (except me, of course). It's the same on here every window. Have you really written off Congerton already? Or are you a small child with a propensity for tantrums?
