23/07/14 - Liverpool v Roma

Agent cutting deal with club in England, Borini gets to see some old friends, cuts tour short, holds scarf at AOL Saturday ;-)

Bolton accepted a bid for Cahill in December and Cahill still played for Bolton until the deal went through in January. Cahill was going to be a bosman that close season as well, so a pretty big risk by Bolton.

Don't see what is so important about it being a friendly, because if he does turn us down, he will need to be fit enough to sell to another club so of course Liverpool will play him in friendlies.
Good example, still not sure playing your best player in a league match compares with a squad player in a friendly.
It seems totally bizarre to me can't see what Liverpool have to gain. If the transfer had dragged on for a couple of weeks and it was getting closer to the start of the season I could see why they might want to play him for fitness.

If he didn't agree terms with Sunderland though he would be stuck in Liverpool training with kids missing vital pre season preparation. Clubs are selfish, why should Liverpool do Sunderland a favour? They've got the Suarez money so aren't exactly desperate for the cash.

Not only that Borini wants to train and get fit, we also want him to train and get fit so going with Liverpool is fine!

Why would he be stuck with the kids? Surely if he didnt agree with terms he would just fly out?

Remember when Henderson wasn't getting first team action at 'Pool, and they negotiated a deal for him to go to Fulham? Henderson decided not to go and play first team football at another club, and to instead stayed to try and make himself a first team player. Imagine this is a similar scenario. My impression was always that Borini wanted to go back and play for Liverpool. Problem is that he'll be 4th choice striker at best.

Again I'd agree if it was a week or so down the line or we were getting closer to the season but that's not the case.
They may not need the money but they must want it.
Usually players fly out if training camps when a fee is agreed like Davies at Swansea.

Isn't the next game next Sunday for them in Chicago? He's gone out there to train with the team. Like has been said we are waiting on clearance to discuss terms with him and his agent. Until then he is a Liverpool player.

has boarded plane for tour but that should not be read as move being off. Agent can talk personal terms.

Anderson from the Echo.
