Who else do we go for? 2 more risks from abroad? It worked well with Altidore or Giach

Or how about someone from home, like Snodgrass and McCormack? combined fee of nearly 20 million there

Ben Davies is going to Spurs for 10 million, Luke Shaw cost over 30 mill!

Is he? And if not we have Fletcher and Altidore (shudder) either way i'm pretty sure Borini is being brought back to play the role he played last season.

Me neither to be fair, but I can't see Ellis risking relegation after last season. I also think Gus has a bit more about him, whereby he has a system and just wanting to buy individuals is a thing of the past.

It's because the more you pay for this or that player(particularly when seen as "over the odds"), the less there is for other players to reinforce the squad.

Imagine paying £30m for Borini. It's not out of any fan's pocket. Why should they worry? When that's the only signing, the club will say: "We've spent £30m! What more do you want?"
 
I think he is a decent player. If you had asked me at the end of the season I would have said £14m was too much but given some of the other deals I guess it's about right in this market. Still crazy money.

For £14m i'd expect a little bit more than 4/5 goals from open play.

You can make excuses all you want but that isn't a very good record.

I hope he proves me wrong mind, but I get the feeling the pricetag will be thrown at him by a lot of Sunderland fans. Especially if we struggle

He isn't going to be our only singing is he,

For once I would rather we did quality over quantity

We know who our new left back is, Alonso, we have our right back and extra keeper in for free already

Borini looks like he is in, I assume Vergini too.

So we are only now looking at 3 or 4 maximum quality signings, a centre half, centre mid, striker probably

Plenty of budget left I'd assume
