Why is this happening again?
After 77,85,87,91,97,03 and 05, why are we going to be relegated again ( 90% chance in my opinion)?
What is it about SAFC that makes us so f***ing shit?
Some blame the fans, noticeably non attendees on here, but that is nonsense.
Location? The vermin up the road manage to overcome this and Boro signed world stars.
It is the mentality of the club as a whole?
What is the answer and why does this keep repeating itself? I simply haven't a clue what it is but like many others, I want someone or something to blame. But right now, I cannot think what....
We've never had a long-term plan. We've got an ineffective Youth system. We lack financial ambition.
It's football, we will be back.
We should get Arnie as our manager.
Hasta La Vista, JozyWe should play him up front!

I remember feeling a bit gutted (cheated?) when Quinn mentioned the excellent win bonuses we paid under Reid - just when yu think it might be being paid thousands as pro or the Club set-up (community orientated etc) or even us fans adulating them in huge numbers that makes them try. No, it all means fk all. It's all about money.and I know some players over the years have come here to put their feet up, in this day and age where money is sloshing about in the game, player don't even have to play for their win bonus, it matters not to them, the players have proved the can play to an high standard, the cup run alone proves that, what they can't do, is get out of the lazy way's they enjoy and that's why the performances are all over the place, they can't stay focused, the players come here to flog it off, not to graft and they enjoy the high wage we had to pay to attract them here in the first place, it's not rocket science, they are human beings and if they can get away with it they will.
Exactly. That was the only reason the did so well - overspent. As said I wish we had (fk the consequences) but now it's too late. If Clubs stick to the FFP, I fail to see how a yu can break into the Top 6 - without a Man City-type takeover or a collapse by a current top side (Man Utd perhaps?).In both cases their transfer policy from that time came close to financially ruining the clubs to the point where Gibson had to stop bankrolling Boro & that led to their relegation that they've not recovered from. Hall/Shepherd had to sell the Skunks because they had nothing left to use as collateral against spiralling debts.

Why do you think we have some sort of divine right not to be relegated?
There are half a dozen teams with years of success and loads of money that guarantee they will be in the top half of the Prem:
City, Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs.
Everton also seem to be an ever present in the top half.
After that literally everyone (including us) can get relegated in any season if things don't go their way.
The things that's surprising is that we haven't gone down recently not that we might this season...
Cant blame the area, Liverpool is a shit hole and they've done alright down the years.
Highlight in my post where I said we had a divine right then...
I agree, however even if we did have the neccessary financial input from Short I don't think we will ever have the income we need to sustain a top 6 position.
Even since we got promoted under Keane and Quinnys magic carpet took off the finacial model for success in the Prem has changed dramatically.
It is no longer just a question of injecting cash it also requires long term sustainability through sponsorship and turnover.
You implied something must be 'wrong' for us to be flirting with relegation.
The inference being that isn't our proper state given our size and money and that we should be a top half Premier Team and never be relegated (because any team not in the top half is de facto risking relegation). And there is your 'divine right'.
My reply is that 7 years unbroken in the the Prem is tremendous success for a town smaller and probably poorer than than Brighton, Leeds, Wakefield, Bristol, Nottingham, Bradford, Coventry, Sheffield (and others whose teams haven't matched our Premier League status) and to have had the most sustained run in the top flight in my lifetime a lot more must have gone right than wrong.
[DOUBLEPOST=1395859520][/DOUBLEPOST]Why do you keep mentioning Wakefield? Have they even got a professional club?Relegations since we came up in 2006:

Crikey! I don't know why, but I totally forgot we're enjoying our most successful run in over 40 years.
