I heard a story of a couple of prozzies who frequented the Clarendon being hired by a ship full of Russian sailors and not being able to walk properly the following day, they'd been ragged that much.
 
i worked with a lad who was picked up in Boro at 3am with a prostitute in the back of his car.

he told the coppers that...gods honest truth.

i was waiting to pick up my mate from a job interview and some lass knoced on my window,it was cold so i let her sit in my car and then the police came over and asked why i had a prostitute in my car and a newspaper covered in semen

That'll have been mad Sandra, they had her there for 3 or 4 days going through her, came back with wads of notes and thought she was gonna be rich, till she got to Dawson & Sandersons where they changed it for about £40 or summat, poor mare!
 
We always used to strive round past the industrial estate just beside the train station on the way to The Arena to skwy at the scantily clad tarts like.

Sland did have a red light area...down the east end when I was a nipper.
The bridge hotel was well known, and the back streets behind the old pictures, studios 1 & 2..loads of them.
