said to my dad before the match I'd be happy losing if we played well and city were better than us. thats what happened, unstoppable goals by world class players. that's where you need some luck, you need those to hit the post.very very proud of them.

just hope they can pick themselves back up, because if we carry on playing like the way we did today, we'll stay up.

We fought hard. However this cheque book shit is boring. I'd rather get beat by Man Coty than Chelsea or Man Utd. Fans like ourselves
I feel a little sorry for the Man City fans. After the years of misery they had, it is almost sad that the rule book is ripped up and they have just bought this team of individuals. Yes they have had victories, but I personally do not support teams for the winning of trophies, that is just the little bit that happens now and then if you are lucky.

I do not consider Man United a chequebook team, they bought their team through success on the pitch. But even with Chelsea, who are a chequebook team, at least they are a team and not a team of individuals slotted together who pass it around until someone does something amazing. I would have rather have lost to one of those miserable Man City sides of the 1990's than these guys today, where some of the players did not even seem to want to lift the trophy. I would hate for Sunderland to have what has happened to Chelsea and Man City happen to them.

I'm the opposite, I was in tears losing the Millwall in the semis and Charlton in the Play offs

Losing to Man City having worked hard is a lot easier to swallow

Overall we were the better team, we were outdone by two world class players with world class strikes. I dont even count the third as we were pushing for the equaliser and opened ourselves up to the counter. I would have liked some of the Man City players to show some sportsmanship and give us some credit for what was a very good game but as they are a bunch of mercenary twats they couldnt give us any credit in the post match interviews. We gave them more than a run for their money and the result flattered them overall. On another day we could have nicked it 1-0 given the nature of their goals.

Who knows what would have been had Toure not produced that first strike.

Well done Sunderland you did us proud today!

Not sure what it looked like on the tele but the feeling in the ground is that Fletcher dropped his arse when presented with golden egg and the ref made a bad call with the tackle from behind.

What did it look like on the box

Tube very subdued

This is how I feel, I read somewhere a piece by someone with the same views that City have not earned their place at the top table, they've bought a golden ticket. Clubs like Man Utd, although having a huge financial advantage, have earned that advantage over decades of great management, and by increasingly good teams being put onto the pitch, many coming through the ranks as kids.

City are just the modern day Blackburn Rovers but with a bigger cheque book. Any team in the leagues could do a City if the owner was rich enough.

this is the reason why it's not so hard to accept we got beat and why I'm well proud of the effort and performance

Borini 2nd goal chance on the break didn't quite get the shot off but Man City scored theirs
Fletcher scuffs a left foot shot into the deck, Toure scoops one into the top corner
Fletcher completely fucks up a non shot and Nasri curls one into the corner

if luck isn't with you then the differences between success and failure in football can be simple things but overall f***ing brilliant performance to be proud of regardless of the result. Funnily I feel we were robbed in a way as a draw was the least we deserved after that performance. To be hit so quickly in succession with 2 class finishes was a kick in the bollocks but even so I still had faith for an equaliser until their 3rd

sadly Fletcher didn't produce with the 2 chances he had and we couldn't get them into extra time as who knows what could have happened after that. I'm sure it was a foul before their 3rd anarl so it's just a bit shit how it ended up after they fought so hard to get something out of it.

after the 1st few minutes and throughout the first half, I was thinking that they must have read that Telegraph article and also seen the scenes at Covent Garden last night as the difference compared to the start at Arsenal last week was unbelievable!

after that I've no doubt we will hammer Hull next week if we start with the same team and determination and get into the Semi and then hopefully the Final!

Haway The Lads

Poud as ever been, dare to dream - we were in for a very long time.

After halftime the swedish commentator said he met a brittish journo at the break who said the Sunderland fans were the loadest he ever heard at Wembely
