First warm up game today against a Vice Chancellor's XI, may even be a Uni team! We scored 290-8, Root got 104, Stokes 58 batting at 4 and 3 respectively. Not a lot else to shout about. Picked Parry and Tredwell so expecting it to spin a bit and preparation for Bangladesh.

Anyone know if the dates for next years Test tour of the Windies have been announced. sometime in April allegedly.

I se that great ex-England player Derek Pringle says that the England coaching job is Ashley Giles' to lose. For God's sake - he is part of the problem surely.

As for Derek Pringle - he was the worst man I ever saw for "play" for England. Actually he never played for England - he turned out a lot though. Peter May, Chairman of the Selectors at the time, said that it should not be forgotten that Pringle was missing the Varsity match and his blue to play for England. God he was rubbish!

Very strange 1st innings. Looked really good. Had them struggling at 120-5 off 35 overs. Then they scored 150 in the last 15. The spinners were canny but the quicks were wayward as fuck.

Do well to chase this down like. Hope the two left arm opening debutants do the business.

Rumours abound that Broad feels threatened by Stokes as a possible all rounder, hence the lack of bowling when the other quicks were getting smashed about. May explain the lack of games in Oz until the ODIs were dead rubbers.
