Southampton Forum Meltdown

Looking at Manchester City tonight, they played as we did earlier in the season. Chased everything, harried Chelsea all game and kept possession. We need to do the same, but SRL and some others seemed to lack the energy today.

Aye i think Sunderland should just copy city too! easy as that!

They were very average barring a 10 minute spell at the end. interesting to hear quiet a few of their fans booing the team when they went over to applaud them at the end.

Some of them poor fuckers will of been up since 4am

i know i was there

It was like the Di Canio situation at west brom in a way

BTW i thought Southampton sold 3000 for this game  didnt sound or look that many?
There were 800 or so of them, they are buying there media hype like, just another in the long line of newly promoted sides that have a good season or so get smoke blown up there arses and buy into there own hype. f***ing strange weve never had the media wank over us like many other promoted teams over the years.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for them, if you'd ever been to,southampton you'd know that it's clearly a releif for them to leave once in a while

Don't know why they're melting down. They haven't beaten us (IIRC) since they came back up. Bit like us and West Brom except it's fun for us.

Reminds me of Swansea supporters when we beat them the other year, their arrogance is astonishing considering where they were a couple of years ago.

There are some arseholes on there, to be sure, but we were talking to some canny Saints fans in Weatherspoons after the game. So don't tar them all with the same brush!

Yet again another club where there fickle fans have gotten carried away cos they've had a bit of success. Seem to forget where they were a few years ago, only thing they have worth bragging about is there youth setup. They will go the way of Bolton, Birmingham, Wigan, Swansea etc. once they've been figured out and lose a key player or two they will be back where they belong. Below a club like us.

This quote from their forum caught my eye
Just goes to show how little their fans know. They need to stop believing everything they read in the papers (i.e they're the Barcelona of the south coast) and start actually watching some football.[DOUBLEPOST=1392516775][/DOUBLEPOST]

Think its in over 10 years. Since 2002 or 2004 or something.

Correct/ they are the new Swansea. When is it our turn to become favourites of the media?

I thought their fans seemed canny before the match. Canny way to travel to be rewarded with that performance, can see why they are pissed off.
Seems unfair to judge fans by their message boards, let's be honest anyone reading pf on a match day couldn't have a high opinion of us.
Just what I was going to say.

We're not really a rationale bunch us football fans and the internet gives every moron a megaphone.

Hmmm. So commentators are happy to tell the world about our (previously) awful record against the Mags, but remain silent about that one.

Being paranoid doesn't make you wrong
