Poyet interview

What IS it with this 'the fans can never be blamed for anything ever' bullshit? Of course the fans behaviour is going to affect the team. Would anyone play better if they were boo'd and jeered? Yes it's a shit team, but nothing Gus has said is wrong in the slightest. What is wrong is the stupidity of some fans here who criticise Gus for stating the obvious.

On the stream I watched, the commentator mentioned our fans and how they were urging the team on. I only heard boos after the final whistle. I don't know how Poyet can in any way say the fans were even partially to blame for today's performance.

Some of those players haven't put a shift in for 3 years and have earned a fortune in the meantime.

'Im fed up'

'Players trying to be the hero (shooting) rather than playing an extra pass, its a team game'

'Fans were getting frustrated and this transferred to the players who became more and more desperate as the game went on'.
fans were getting frustrated cos the useless cunts wouldn't take a dig and decided to pass, one almost resulted in them scoring. Fuck me we've just went head to head for 90 minutes against an equally shite team and got fuck all on target bar a disallowed goal

I hope I am wrong, but not convinced he has the stomach for the fight if he is fed up after barely two months. I've suffered decades of disappointment.
I like Poyet and think we will do ok. But worrying glimpses of self pity. He is well paid to sort it out. Being bottom with one point when he arrived should have been enough of a clue that this wasn't Barca he was arriving at

The ball barely left our half for the first 5 mins. Passing around back and forth with the back 7. Back 4, Catts, Jack and Ki. Teams know get tight on Ki and the rest will make the mistake one of the earlier posters mentioned and give possession away except he referred to the opposition doing it. ( we havent got speedy forwards pressing, just wheelchair merchants) Catts showed at Hull he's not suited to it but at least didnt get sent off this time after a similar first half. This tippy tappy keeping the ball isnt constructive football when its confined to your own half. If Gus wants fans to cheer when we score or win. Go oooh at near misses. Then he has to put up with Aaargh at mistakes and frustration of lack of forward momentum. Gans with the job. And this possession shit is Sky and Co bollocks stats to discuss ower. The goals count at the end is the only one that puts points on the board.

If he doesnt buy a centre forward who can at least hit the target hel get more fed up.

I think he knows if he criticises the players, he'll be out on his ear. One of the many many reasons we are going down.

seems everyone here is talking about the subject mate except you ,you seem to be in some sort of click and waiting for a reply from someone else in your click .
i'm in nee click marra, I have seen the same shite as you have today, just unfortunately have seen it before and I hope to god we bounce back next year. I whinge and moan with the best of them, trust me I do, but some on here (not you I may add) just are dying to stick the boot in.

He did say he had watched all I games before taking the job, but I really a not too sure, as he seemed genuinely shell-shocked after the Swansea performance. Admittedly, I was as well, but I always full of false optimism with Sunderland.

I like Poyet as well, but do think managing Sunderland will be a big test for his character. His comments just show his frustration at the the topsy turvy pattern of results we get and the fact we managed to get 1 point from home fixtures against Norwich & Aston Villa at home. I am sure, in typical Sunderland style, there will be more twists and turns before the end of the season, we just all need to sit tight and see what happens![DOUBLEPOST=1388603867][/DOUBLEPOST]

Still not giving up hope, but admittedly it is dwindling!
He said something strange before the Cardiff match, something along the lines of he was unsure as to what team was going to turn up. It really does suggests to me that the players are a law unto themselves. Hopefully he will be able to bring some of his own players in and stamp his authority on the team!

Its quite clearly not his fault. Weve known how poor our core group of players have been since Bruce got sacked and Di Canio, whilst his methods were questionable, at least had the bottle to publically call them out.

PDC got loads of abuse for affecting player morale with such comments, but from what I'm hearing Gus' comments are basically saying the players are shite and can't get better. VERY true, but not exactly motivational stuff to galvanise them for winnable upcoming games, unless he has given up and doesn't think they can win.

Wish we would shoot instead of trying to walk the ball into the net

Gus is fed up, welcome to the club. Good manager with a limited squad.

He was absolutely cutting on Radio Newcastle about certain individuals not being part of the team and playing their own games.

The obvious 2 for me were Giaccherinni and Fletcher who were both completely wank yet again
