Racist Fans

You are missing the point completely.the original debate centered around the term Chinese being used to describe a Korean. Now Chinese is not a race either so why is that more offensive than Aussie? This really is like pulling teeth.Just tell me what I'm missing here??

You have answered your own question! Chinese is a derogatory term used to describe people of far Eastern facial characteristics. This is backed up by the fact that Ki/Ji are NOT Chinese and it has been thrown at them.

There are several theories as to why it is offensive, one being that is relates to the word 'chink' meaning 'narrow slot or gap' - Im sure I don't need to explain the racial slur there...

All in all, it doesnt matter why it is offensive, if you continue to use a word that you know others find deeply abhorrent then that is unacceptable, and to an extent, racist.

Can we have a definitive answer on how many fans engaged in this racism, how many times it happened and indeed what it actually was.

You are wrong Chinese is basically shorthand for Chinese just as Aussie is shorthand for Australian.onky difference is one is a predominantly white country the other isn't.That simple really.[DOUBLEPOST=1388606321][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also first impressions of somebody who has the appearance of ki and ji Is Chinese like it or not. No harm meant by it just as you couldn't really distinguish the difference in appearance between and Englishman and Scotsman.doesnt make it racist.

I sit in the north east corner and I can honestly say I've never heard racism and struggle to think of times when we have had a problem with racism..when racism was bad we had coloured players and I never heard anyone slag there colour off, their ability yes but never there colour...maybe the odd drunken remark but sunderland fans in general are better than that.

I give up. ffs I know what it's short for, I'm talking about the origin. Ki is not Chinese, and term is not aimed at purely Chinese people is it, as I have already explained.

So what you're saying is, YOU get to decide what offends others?

Well inform me I am all ears? Whenever people have this debate it is the same thing people like yourself come back with.Need educating, need to be better informed etc then when pressed on the issue of educating refuse to take argument any further because apparently the person making the counter argument is too ignorant and apparently a racist? To me you seem yet another member of this P.C society that takes it upon themselves to be offended on other peoples behalf!

It's f***ing 2014, there's absolutely no reason not to understand why calling anyone of East Asian ethnicity a "Chinese c*nt" is unacceptable. I'm not going to be the one to explain it to you.

And as I said people who look like ki and ji generally get taken for Chinese whether they are or not. FFS it ain't difficult to fathom out.it does not make it racist just as and il say it once more physically you couldn't tell difference between an Englishman and Scotsman!
As I said do you think Peter Beardsley enjoyed being called Quasimodo? but I've no doubt you would have chuckled along with everyone else about that even though it is grossly offensive!
Why anybody gets offended about there colour is beyond me.it is totally irrelevant in today's world![DOUBLEPOST=1388607500][/DOUBLEPOST]

Exactly the response I was expecting.
Game set and match mrjardine!
I'm sure you'll enjoy reading the independent in morning. You should change striker under your name to left wing!!

Game, set and match? :-) I could tear a thousand and 1 holes in everything you have said, including several self-contradictions on your part. I would attempt to educate you mate, but I can't be bothered to engage in a history lesson with someone whose opinion belongs in it.

Also its new year, I cant be bothered. Have a good one :-)

What a crock of sh!t. What is difference between fans saying that or calling Tim Cahill am Aussie c@nt? Answer no difference.Oh sorry Cahill is white so it's fine!! Honestly this racism bullocks really irritates me mind!
if you cant see what wrong with that then i pity you.
Also cahill aint white.

Will we ever truely rid our support base of the racism culture that very much still exists between a small portion of our fan base.

The abuse that Jozy Altidore among others is disgusting, Seemingly people think it's ok as they've paid their money and he's on loads!

Idiots..

They've always been there.

Thick as pigshit, the IQs of plantpots and brains addled from sniffing their own arses.

reported.

Well I urge you to tell me why you pity my views.I guarantee you won't because you have no idea why you are offended by such terms as you just go along with what society dictates. The sooner we move away from colour issues the better.this is 2014 not 1960 when racism was a genuine issue.

Having read the rest of your posts in this thread i can now answer your question.
You are missing a brain.

Again why clueless? Easy to make a comment without backing it up. I have qualified every comment I have made.Your another liberal lefty who gets offended on behalf of others.Dint let it concern you.

So you stated? "Why anybody gets offended about there colour is beyond me" ... are you for f***ing real?

Loads of racist abuse today, fight nearly broke out in east stand near south east corner cos of one bloke repeatedly calling Ki and Altidore, our own players. As shit as they are if you can't back your own players and are just sitting there spouting racist comments about them don't turn up.
