New Music Releases Thread

Fuck This Place I think it's called? It's on their EP from a few years ago, the only thing I haven't listened to.

Ah right canny. :-)

Floating in the Forth was the highlight of the Newc. gig. That and Scottish Winds.

No more gigs lined up this year now. :-( Well no paid ones anyway, Gold Panda and Mazes are playing Frankie's shop in the coming weeks.

This been mentioned yet? Just seems to be getting an airing now, and on the new sony tv advert.

I like that. Had heard it, presumably on the ad.

Courtney Barnett's double EP "A Sea of Split Peas" is very good - well worth a listen if you like quirky, literate Lemonheads-ish indie pop.

The machine that is Bruce Springsteen continues to amaze. New album out next year and new single out next week.

Tour please! 8-)

Had Free Your Mind on by Cut Copy this week, I'm really getting into it. It's cheesy as hell at some points but a really enjoyable album. Worth a listen if you're stuck for material.

The video for the title track reminds me that Psych leader from The Men Who Stare At Goats.

Although it was released in Jan , enjoying the Brothers In Law album Hard Times For Dreamers. Which surprised me considering Italy is hardly a hotbed of decent music

All new There Will Be Fireworks today  from what I've heard so far it's gonna be up there for my favourite album of the year.

Avalance Records in Edinburgh are always banging on about these, I take it they're good? I've heard heard one song, it was canny but I haven't got round to a proper listen yet.

Currently listening to TRAAMS (very decent) and Joanna Gruesome (decent).

Couple of their new songs if you fancy a listen on this review -

Aye cheers, that's where I first heard them. :) Great site.

I've never actually used it before, just read a the review of there for the album. Notice they've got interviews with Los Camp & Twilight Sad on the front page at the minute though so might have to a mooch about the site.

It's a really good place for finding new stuff you'd never heard of before. Keep it bookmarked.

There's a massive LC! interview with Gareth over on Drowned in Sound at the minute. It's about football and music. Worth a read if you're interested.

Just downloaded Volcano Choir - Repave, its the guy from Bon Iver its a decent listen so far

That's another I forgot in the Album of the Year thread. It's a cracking album!

Dead Flowers "Midnight at the Wheel Club" is my album of the week. For fans of Tindersticks, Mark Lanegan, Tom Waits, John Grant, Leonard Cohen etc.
