Short Is Failing Us

I think that he has had a difficult job, but when Keane left we were told that this would not happen again. Last year, this year.

If there was good communication from the club I could stand it. However, the communication from the club is absolutely f***ing piss poor.

In true smb rumour Giachh was on approx £15k a week at Juve, that's two phil bardsleys. So the cheap foreigner is out there just we seem to have bulk bought rather than been selective

Like Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Forest, Derby and Leicester? Nothing is certain.

well with Leeds, they fucked themselves spending out of their means. Short has just put an end to that seemingly.

the others weren't really substantially big clubs in modern times. didn't have the revenues to ever compete.

ultimately it comes down to cash, the rich clubs will always come straight back up, or very quickly. short is seemingly trying to put us in a position where we're not developing higher and higher debt.

They dont have parachute money for starters.
Leeds fucked up on a massive scale financially.
Sheff Utd, Derby and Leicester were never anything special beyond one season wonders and yoyo teams.
Forests heyday was in a completely different footballing climate so can't really be compared.

Wednesday could be the closest comparison as they had a decent run in the Premier League, but they never got a slice of the silly money that we've had for the last 7 years.

Why did someone buy Southampton?

Because they were in receivership if i remember right, and cost very little - they were worth the risk at a knockdown price

Do you really think short would write off a lot of his investment enough to attract a genuine buyer?

He sold;

Bent ,
Gyan,
Henderson ,
Mignolet,
Jones,
Sess,etc etc.
And let many others go due to wages not football ability.Understand the books need to be balanced but not with a git big chopping axe.

He's decimated team after team by forcing the sale of our most dangerous players and then failing/struggling to replace them.

I want Bruce to leave but to be fair to the man his hand was forced with the sale of Bent. He built a side around him and was forced to rely on loan players.[DOUBLEPOST=1381005278][/DOUBLEPOST]

We have a lot of potential. They may be willing to take on some of the debt. Ellis may be willing to make a loss.

If he sells us on the cheap in the Championship someone git rich might see potential and buy into us. Happened with Cardiff/Southampton.
Id go so far to say that were a very attractive prospect really given our stadium and amazing support, i dont know of any other team that does as shite as we do and still get this amazing support, name one someone??

If this last 3 years had happened under Murray the stick he'd have got on here would have been unreal

If he doesn't appoint a good manager/head coach then I think it's time for him to call it a day and get out.

He's sold Mignolet and Sessegnon and failed to replace them.

We needed more quality and we've brought in bargain basement players.

There is no communication and there appears to be no direction. Commercially we may be doing well but that will count for very little if we are relegated which is looking inevitable.

Very disappointing.

Not like he can stick us in eBay and the club value right now is dropping each day

I have lost faith in frankly everyone at the club. Him included. He must realise he is the problem. He is worse than Ashley for me. The only way to get him to sell is to pressure him. Hound him to selling to a guy who knows what to do because he does not.

Inevitable? Really?

We are, quite rightly, taking a measured approach in finding a new coach. If you believe we're already down, what's the rush? Meanwhile on Planet Earth, we've still got most of the season to play, and our best hope to rescue it is to bring in the right man, not the first man we speak to.

What communication are you expecting, exactly? If we're speaking to several candidates, it's only right that we keep our cards close to our chest. Our last coach aired his dirty laundry in public, and that didn't go too well.[DOUBLEPOST=1381064831][/DOUBLEPOST]
If we go down the blame should lie fairly and squarly at the owners door.He has turned SAFC into a selling club again re-Hendo,Mig and Sess.

We were never anything but.

I like it.

What do you really think though?

- Why did we sell Sessegnon and not replace him?

- Why have we brought in bargain basement players and little quality?

- Why was Di Canio only given 5 games in charge after bringing in so many players in the summer?

- What's our strategy? Does the club have a plan for creating a strong football team? The Udinese model is all well and good in terms of making profits but as a football supporter are we going to see our side win many games... if any?!

Based on the cheap signings we've made very few sides would want to sign them. That's not exactly how the Udinese model works is it?

He can't and won't leave and nor would I want him to either, I disagree with things he does but he's running the club.

We needed quality before the summer, didn't get it, sold our 2 better players an still didn't replace them either. That's the real travesty here and the reason behind our struggles. He can't leave though

Aye, with a bit of luck there could be another chicken processor in India fancying a punt.

We'll always be among the top earners in the Championship by attendances. We'll always be able to attract top level Championship players, this squad proves that.

We might have a season or two in the Championship, but we'll end up in the Premier league again sooner or later.

and then back in The Championship no doubt. This club doesn't seem to have had any real ambition since the 1950s[DOUBLEPOST=1381066485][/DOUBLEPOST]

Are they that more embarrassing than us of late?

We were never anything but.
SAFC will never fulfil its potential again if we continue to sell our best players.Under the Drumaville/Quinn leadership there was a determination to build a club again by retaining the best players unlike the Murray years.I feel we have gone full circle again. We are in danger of becoming a feeder club again to those more successful.established clubs under Shorts stewardship which will eventually lead to relegation struggles which is happening and is a recipe for disaster

I know it doesn't feel like it at present, but yes at their peak, they were a magnitude more shambolic.
