I have talked to a few of the DCB coaches and now have a greater understanding of how the process works. They made it clear to me that:

1. their process does work,
.

i don't think anyone could question this over the last few years!

rocky, jennings, borthwick, stokes, richardson, wood, arshad, rushworth, harrison... nearly a whole team either coming into the squad or blossoming into an important player[ in the case of stoneman & rushy who have been around a bit longer]

aye, it is obviously very early days but being an exile i haven't had a chance to see him in the flesh so fancied getting the views of some of you guys.

he opens for [is it blaydon he plays for in nepl?] and has scored a century marty said so he really could be a big deal for us.

unreal how we have endlessly produced bowlers, now it seems all rounders are what we are chucking out

iirc someone said on here that the academy is always looking for players who can do it all rather than specialists. it's a safe way to go although i'd hate to think we missed out on the next superstar batsman or bowler just because they weren't much cop at the other end.

i thought this the other day, its only stoneman who doesn't bowl [and mustard obviously] in our lineup!

Nee need to worry about that. If the next big bowler or batsman is out there they should be found, the overall structure should see to that. And most lads can bat and bowl a bit at that level anyway. If Anderson or Pierterson is ever out there, and playing up here, Durham will find him.

im fairly sure anderson and pietersen were both playing up here recently

made good runs as well. Might need him for balance with stokes playing for England next season.

We have Buckley remember to, took five on debut!

Where do people like Ryan Pringle stand? He is still young, is he only seen as a one day player? Has he done much for the seconds

Really exciting times for Durham mind, as you say we have a whole group coming through together, remarkable that we are top

Haven't seen much of him but he seems to be a one day specialist. Bowls very flat and hits the ball very hard.

aye totally forgot about buckley and pringle - they seemed to come into the team at the same time, within a week or two both had made their debut but it different formats, iirc buckley took the 5 wickets then next week was dropped for pringle in the one day side so i assumed they are specialists to their respective forms.

isn't a [presumably son of martyn?] moxon on the cusp of making a debut after playing well for the 2nds? also a spinner i think?

at this rate we may have to enter our 2nds into division 2:lol::lol:

I think you mean Max Mosley? Played in one of the T20s.

Yeah been our best spinner in quite a few games iirc despite rarely bowling out.

Strangely enough the game after you insisted Pringle was the best spin bowler and should have bowled first Borthwick and Breese got 7 wickets for nowt and he got carted :)
