They won't. They check your ticket before your bag, they will either confiscate it or throw you out whether you're at the gate or at your seat. You pays your money, you take your chances......

Got to say, I'm a bit surprised at the amount of alcohol being smuggled in. I don't think I've ever seen anyone swiging a can or a bottle of spirits at OT.

It says in the FAQs that anything from a bag search which you can't yake into the ground can be returned to your car.

Its not worth the risk...buy your ale inside the ground...simples

Pretty sure you can return ale to your car...might be wrong tho

I got chucked out of the India ODI a few years back for smuggling drink in. Actually already had it within the grounds so went in clean, and acquired the drink from our secure place!

All went rosily for the first 6 or 7 cans but we became careless and empties started rolling down the seats. It was quite empty so a steward noticed and lifted us straight away.

No confiscation, just hoyed us out.

Did get a bit cheeky though which probably didnt help. When asking which gate we came through we told him his, and he never checked his bag. His gaffer who was there by then started having a go at him, although still chucked us out.

Thankfully it rained 10 mins later and we were sitting in the boozer watching the overhead pictures of traffic congestion on sky.

:lol::lol:Tickled me that

The bairn and I met up with Michael Di Venuto this afternoon and watched a bit of the Aussies in the nets.

Brilliant too see Michael again and true to his words he supplied us with tickets for days 2 and 3 (in with the Aussie fans which should be good craic) to go with the ones we already had for days 1 and 5. The bairn was made up too see him again and receive the tickets.

The bairn is a ball boy and also giving a cricket demonstration - think its Kwic Cricket - on Saturday so he is looking forward to that immensely. Good of the DCB and the coaches to involve the bairns in what will be a huge experience for them.

I think the Under 12 lads and lasses are involved on Sunday so suspect that all DCB age groups will be getting involved during the 5 days.

for MDV's sake I wish him the best of luck. He's a class act.

I've got a couple of spares (2 singles) for Saturday that I'm looking to sell. Would prefer to sell direct rather than offload to a tout.

I'm new here (not a Mackem) but know Rip Van Fish from England travels and he suggested some on here might be after tickets. The Fish can also vouch for my authenticity and occasional good character.
Bump.

I would but i'm working saturday. Hope saturday takes the shite weather and i get a full sunday.

Brilliant

Would love to be sat with the Aussies

Sat by myself like as me and my dad booked late, but should be good crack anyway

Me father is sneaking some whiskey in with his flask, be very surprised if he gets caught

Right so I've poured my vodka into multiple bottles etc. so I get thru, get searched and get found out. Am I then not allowed in? I'd rather not take any risks but would still like a few freebies if possible.

Also I've asked a few times but what time is best to get there? My taxi is booked to get me there for 10 is that ok or too late? It's my first rver test match. I think I'm playing aftery performance Sunday. Bresnan out, Stewart in

That just about sums the fella up, would love to see him back at Durham someday in a coaching capacity.
