4th Ashes Test - Durham

Wrap them up in tin foil and put them in a sarnie box.

They're not going to undo the tin foil for a look at a 'sandwich'.

Or put vodka in a small bottle, place inside a pringles tube and put a couple of pringles on top.

Not that I've done this before or owt.

I saw a lad at Headingly do that and get caught. He had sealed the Pringles tube up so it looked perfect but the guy shook it, it didn't sound right so he peeled back the lid and found the vodka

Its just down to luck and how fussy the person who checks is.

Is there anyone else on here not attending this test at some point? Feels like I'm the only person watching the whole thing on TV.

I missed all previous tests due to living abroad but now I live within walking distance of the ground

I'm currently sat on a balcony in sunny Croatia listening to the radio

Unlucky/lucky. Im outside gate 5 waiting for Magicrat to turn up with me ticket.

thought we might have bowled, oh well, ha'way bat all day get 500 and then skittle the aussie bastards tomorrow for 120.

At least we have onions for Scotland Sunday I suppose. Gutted fatty got in ahead of him. There was nothing between him and onions the last time they both played

Un-f***ing-changed man

Ridiculous isn't it. Broad, Bresnan and Bairstow all fortunate to keep their places. The opening pair haven't worked all series so there is an argument for moving Root down the order where he looks more comfortable and maybe bringing back Compton for Bairstow. I'd have liked to see Onions and Tremlett for Broad and Bresnan but there you go.

As biased to Durham as I am, tin hat on, but the ground really does not look big enough or impressive enough for an ashes test.
Lets just play all the matches at lords the oval and trent bridge then.

Broad stays in the side because of daddy. He's rank.

From TMS:

ASHES VOTE - RESULT

The results of the first vote are in... and a whopping 90% disagreed with the selectors and said England should have named Graham Onions in their team. Only 10% thought he should be left out.

and Michael Vaughan:

Michael Vaughan, Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
"I think England have been very consistent and very loyal to the players they've picked, but I think I would have picked Graham Onions for this one. There are a few cracks in the pitch, Onions plays so well here - if he's not going to play here, where is he going to play? 'Horses for courses' is a bad expression as it implies that Onions can only play here. He's an outstanding bowler, but is perfectly suited for this wicket."

Bresnan was England's best seamer at Old Trafford, and with his batting he should have been nailed on to play, leaving the way open to drop Broad.

Root stays where he is as he's the long term man to open.
