Answer my question first.......

Before you get your mans heed on - I wasn't trying to be smarmy. I just realised its been a long while since we scored big in the first innings of a Championship match.....?
 
Also can't understand why Colly bats at 6 behind Borthwick and Smith, I know he's not had a good season but he spent 10 years at the top and hasn't declined dramatically enough to be considered inferior to those 2.

Because we have potentially plenty of overs from our batsmen meaning its effectively a spare position. Considering how poor we have batted we are filling it with another batter in an effort to shore up. Tbh id be tempted to drop borth back to 8 & see how well rico copes with the responsibility. There is probably a case for Colly to bat higher than Stokes atm too.

It's a nightmare batting order to try and sort out as no-one is in any real form but Colly should at at least 5 IMO.
 
We probably have the weakest top 4 in the division but one of the strongest lower orders, something needs to be done to try and balance it out.
