batting and decision making at the crease have been poor in both games so far from both teams, especially from the recognised batsman.

massive wicket that to get clarke out.

It was, but he isnt the first and wont be the last to go from a full toss.

Still been some good bowling though. For example, Usmans decision making was poor and he got himself out. But that was due to Swann being all over him for a period of time.

A mixture. Id argue, in the main, that since lunch our good bowling has built up pressure which has led to some poor shots.

Still reckon we gave it away yesterday. England have built far more consitent pressure and forced Aus onto the back foot, whereas yesterday attack wasn't really doing much and a wicket would just go.

Been good stuff from the attack today though, not much loose stuff and been very containing, batsmen not been on top for longer than a few overs. But a better team wouldn't be six down. Being on top of an average Australia isn't proof of England's cricketing mastery.

Maybe for older folks who have been accustomed to seeing Aus dominate this is enough, but as someone whose only been watching for fifteen years I've seen England win more against Australia than they've lost so it's no big deal for me. Obviously I want us to win but i don't think cricket should stop at the Ashes, especially given how average Australia have been for nearly half a decade now. I want England to be able to compete with everyone in the world, and looking past this series we're not in that position.

361 mind would not be enough against the indians or saffers. Thankfully this aussie batting really is rank.

Plus england have bowled consistently well today. Swann had usman all ends up

yep, definitely. keeping the pressure on when there's not much going on really. still a fairly flat wicket bar the bit of turn for swann.

Pressure being applied has been too much for them.

Not suggesting it wil be easy but should we get in a position to enforce the follow on should we do so? I say we should, but wont.
