[the Ashes] first test Trent Bridge

Starts tomorrow chaps.

Weather looks a little cooler in the forecast, 19c-20c. Any news on the pitch?

England will go with Onions I think, I think they think the Aussie batting line up is flimsy so will play attacking cricket....and Onions will attack their left handers

With the long spell of hot, dry weather, it looks like reverse swing could come into play in this test. I think the 3rd seamer will be whoever the selectors think will be the best exponent of it.

Or they'll just go with Bresnan because he can bat a bit

Good god, I think about 100/1 they go with GO

Unless you are party to some gossip

Heading down early tomorrow. Would be very surprised if we went with Onions. Bresnan to extend the batting line up a bit.

Zero chance they will go with Onions.

Finn should get toe nod but I reckon it will a four man attack of Anderson, Broad, Bresnan and Swann.

Will be typical English mentality, lets not lose the first test comes first before thinking lets win the first test.

Most interesting aspect of this series for me is how our batsmen do against the Aussie bowlers.

I'd expect the "safe" selection of Bresnan. He can bat at 8 and get a bit of reverse.

Personally, I'd go with Finn

The Aussie batsmen will be breathing a sigh of relief if Bresnan is picked.

Finn would be the better choice but it will make no difference. Which ever attack we go with we will do damage against that batting line up.

I will be there.

Good stuff. Cracking ground Trent Bridge. Was down there to see Broady get his hat-trick against India 8-) (and to see the ground kicking right off when Bell got ran out )
