Been picked for the T20i series v Nz later this month.

Good to see England are still interested in him despite his recent misdemeanour on tour.
 

Probably on the back of his bowling this season really, he's clearly got the ability to hit big but it's his bowling that seems to have come on most.
 
Will he miss any Championship cricket for us? I'm over the moon for Ben like but it's always bittersweet when one of our lads gets called up!

Really pleased he's got a chance to show he should be in the 1 day team. Surprised at Bairstow being dropped.

I'm not surprised but I am struggling to see how he's justifying being in the squad, he's been in the main, very poor throughout his international career.

They can only be persisting with him as they genuinely believe his so called varieties will good come one day.

He wont miss any Durham games as its only a 2 match series, Tuesday and Thursday next week, although might possibly miss Durhams first T20 game on the Friday night.

Big fear is Onions getting called up for the Ashes.

Sounds right to me, pretty sure when he played against India in 2011 his hand was in strapping.

Either way I think his bowling has come on, at times last season he looked a very innocuous seamer.

Bowled some brilliant spells this season

Batting in the shorter forms of the games have been better

Think he is behind Bairstow in tests and who knows about Ravi but would like him to be in the Ashes squad at the end of the year.

Once gets bit of consistency with the bat in 4 day game, name me a player in county cricket who is (obv not yet) averaging 40 with the bat and mid 20s with the ball who is English qualified??

Not that they are as good as Stokes but Rikki Clarke and Chris Woakes over the past few seasons.

I'm not a big one for averages in county cricket to be honest. Too many variables - playing at Durham makes it easier for his batting and more difficult for his bowling. I do agree though from what I have seen he is a class act.
