You forget how many have turned up for a month or two. Sure Javagal Srinath turned up for a few weeks

I really miss the old days of having one overseas player ALL summer for all formats.

For the record, Benks, Wiseman, Breese, Blignaut, Park, Were all Kolpaks... Add Thorp, Claydon, Stokes, Richardson & a load more werent even born in the UK

Slowest medium pacer ever him like.

Handy cricketer as he could bat, field, keep wicket and bowl (slowly) - didn't get much of a chance here and is now coaching in Derbyshire.

He was another middle order player who i honestly rated more than Muchall or Smith.

With the cameos we had it'd be a peice of piss to do a worst XI

For all Chanderpaul was a world class batter, his display on T20 finals day alone should get him into it

Yeah, ignore the trophies he won

I maintain that Wasim Raja is the most naturally gifted batsman employed by DCC or DCCC, followed by Jones. Nowhere near the application of Hussey, Chanderpaul or Boon of course

He did indeed, he was knocking on a bit by then aswell

I agree with the one overseas player comment, I think chopping and changing devalues the competitions a bit. I know the international calender means it is very hard to get someone for a full season, and the domestic T20 leagues around the world don't help either, but if you look at the likes of Katich, Hussey, Love, Rogers - they all came here unproven and ended up in the Aussie test team, so I think that proves that you can attract very good talent, known or not, and there is a big incentive for them to prove themselves in these conditions and better themselves.

Why do people always use that as a stick to beat him with?

I'd easily take a one-day or Championship title anyday of the week over a novelty tournament.

I hear you but surely we can get a batsman that would be an asset, wouldnt cost a bomb & would be available all season long & not be hindered by the above comps. I bet there are club players in Australia who would offer more than Muchall or Smith.

If you look at the clip of Aussie Cricket now & think 10+ years ago the likes of Hussey x 2, Hodge, Cox, Law, Bevan, Di Venuto, Lehman + loads more

yet couldnt get near a regular slot in the australian set up !

Aye, it almost got to the stage where it felt like cheating if one of the teams didn't have an Aussie batsman
