Who would make your all time Durham Overseas XI. My recollections only go back to the late 90's so its all First Class players, although some may not have been 'official' overseas players. Like Benkenstein, for example.

For me, I'm still composing mine, but I'm hoping some of you might be able to jog my memory!!

Top 3 has to be Hussey, Di Venuto, Boon though.

Love
Di Venuto
Chanderpaul
Boon
Hussey
Benks
Katich
Stokes
Lord Ottis
Thorpe
Wasim Raja
Shoaib Akhtar

Erm, Hussey can take the gloves.

Think mine is quite close to Steak's.

I'd have -

Di Venuto
Hussey
Boon
Chanderpaul
Benkenstein
Katich
Morkel
Pollock
Thorp
Gibson
Akhtar

Dean Jones?
Paul Parker?
Manoj Prabhakar?
Brad Hodge?
Marcus North?
Gareth Breese?
Shaun Pollock?
Shaun Taiut?
Nathan Astle?
James Maher?
Garry Park?
Scott Styris?
Neil Mckenzie?
Ross Taylor?
David Warner?

Loads of them have flitted in and out of the sides in previous years with varying degrees of success....

Depends whether you have them in based on performances for Durham, or their career really

Bit of a joke having Akhtar in if the former

Sherwin Campbell seemed to do quite well looking back at some of the old scorecards from 96, considering the dross he had around him

He was a decent overseas player, not quite in the class of others around at the time but he was comfortably our best batsman at the time.

Anderson Cummins was as average as they come, you could tell the Windies were running out of decent quick's when he turned up.

Manoj Prabharkar wasn't bad, good bowler at county level but didn't do much with the bat which was strange considering he had opened for India.

Jones, Hussey and Boon by far the best

On reflection, I'd like to add Breese. Totally overlooked him! Has to be the spin option

Di Venuto
Hussey
Boon
Chanderpaul
Benkenstein
Katich
Breese
Pollock
Thorp
Gibson
Akhtar

In response to the Akhtar 'haterz'..... I thought he actually did alright for us. I wouldn't say he was our best overseas bowler but he was decent.

I thought Akthar was very good when here, some devastating performances at times.

You forget how many have turned up for a month or two. Sure Javagal Srinath turned up for a few weeks

I really miss the old days of having one overseas player ALL summer for all formats.

For the record, Benks, Wiseman, Breese, Blignaut, Park, Were all Kolpaks... Add Thorp, Claydon, Stokes, Richardson & a load more werent even born in the UK
