Peterlee next year and return to new Stadium in Shields the year after according to the Gazette.

Fantastic news if it comes off, allows them to stay in Northern League.
 

Been rumours of a ground share with Peterlee for a few weeks but there are also rumours that Peterlee are dropping out of the Wearside league.

If Shields end up back in the town then this whole thing might actually end up well for them. Hope it does. Be interesting to see where the local authority are thinking of putting a new ground.

Been trying to think of a place it must be down the beach at gypsies green or bents park. at a push maybe the leisure center. am gonna try find out tonight.

filtrona was a bit out of the way so something closer to town would be nice

dont think they would do bents park would spoil the front imo

gypsies green maybe as its slightly more secluded and half hidden

Gypsies green would be the obvious choice. Improve the fence and hoy up a small stand and it would not be far away from what is needed in the Northern League. I think it already has floodlights although they may not be up to scratch.
 
Hope it works out for us, although i'd love to know where we would get a permanent home in South Shields, when the council have turned down every proposal so far and chances of staying at Filtrona Park were blown out of the water with the series of events that happened and lack of funding.

At least we have found somewhere for next season, thought the club was going to vanish, yet again, although after this seasons results, it felt like the team never showed up at all some days.

Would love it to be somewhere like Gypsies Green, Westoe Cricket Club or even where Brinky was, somewhere relatively central, as Filtrona was closer to Jarrow than Shields, sure it would get much bigger crowds if it was in a better place.

They tried, every proposal was turned down by the respective clubs, or no agreement reached.

Think the new ground is going to be part of a tech college in South Shields.
 
dont think it will be gypsies green as the pitch isnt big enough and would have to be extended which would mean taking the running track out, the harriers wont let that happen
