Anybody know which other players contracts run out at the end of the season. I mentioned Smith and Muchall as Iam sure i read something at the end of last season about it. Sounds like a bad time for your contract to run out if the clubs main priority is to slash the wage bill

Gordon Muchall is like Teflon. Dont worry he will still be conning a living as a proffesional cricketer for DCCC this time next year!

Stokes, thorp, breese, harmison, claydon asked for transfer. Gloucestershire interested in him but would only pay half his wages.

Sorry, I'm not clear on that, the first 4 are out of contract at the end of the Summer? CLaydon has already asked to leave?

Need to get Stokes tied down and Breese seems to be doing a canny job but he must be getting on a bit now (4 year contract then?)

If Stokes stays just under the radar of the England selectors, then come the end of the season you will have the same situation as Glamorgan had with Harris at the end of last season with probably every county in the country offering him a possible deal. I would imagine Durham will have to make Stokes the highest paid player at the cub to keep him. Hopefully England see sense select him for at least the one day side and he stays at Durham.
