The National's album is starting to grow on me after a couple more listens... really love 'Fireproof' which seems to be the stand out track so far for me

Also had a listen to the following recently... not sure when these came out so apologies if any aren't exactly brand new:

To kill a king - cannibals with cutlery: Bit of a mixed bag and can't quite decide if I like it or not... leaning more towards not but will give it a few more listens

The Courteeners - ANNA: Shit

Bastille - Bad Blood: One good track the rest is shit

Tristan Mackay - Out Along The Wire: 1st 10 seconds of the 1st track sounded a bit James Vincent McMorrow-esque but after that it rapidly nosedived and I didn't get past the next 30 seconds before switching it off. Shit

Flaws is mildly tolerable, the rest is absolutely terrible.

Me too, they're playing tonight at Think Tank, I'd go but it's pointless, catching the last bus after walking back into town from there is pretty impossible. Good venue, bad location. :-(

Exactly my reasoning for having to miss out on this. I suppose its all down to demand at the end of the day, but it really annoys me that you struggle to get a train or bus after 11 in the NE.

Total rubbish isn't it, Think Tank/Hoults Yard are getting some really decent acts on lately and it's annoying the hell out of me because unless it's a Saturday (there's a 11.30 bus, woo hoo!) I can't get home after 11.

I like the place but after youtubing the band, i will be stopping in tonight:lol:

The National could release a cover of S Club 7s greatest hits and people on here would still wank over it till their hands were raw.

Saying that, Trouble will find me is fantastic, Sea of love in particular is mint.

I cannit wait for the new pigeon detectives record like theyre massively underrated

This Majical Cloudz album is up there for my album of the year so far.

Watched a review of that Suuns album last night as well, might give that another try next week.

Been listening to the new Laura Marling record today, one of those that I couldn't wait to get to the end of - and it's a long 'un - so I could play it again. Confidently tipping this for my end of year Top 3! Fascinating songs and I really like her guitar playing, don't know how good she is but I love the sounds she makes. 4th album, each better than the last, and still only 23. Lovely.

Listening to the Laura Marling album for the first time currently. On first listen, it could be my album of the year. The first four songs which roll into each other are stunning!
