Bit harsh on Gaz Bez if they are playing a 2nd spinner and it's not him.
 
belting question on the cricket commentary, which two teams have Durham beaten most in the County Championship.....recon Warwickshire is one and Lancashire is the other
 
60 overs bowled and no Borthwick yet Buckley already bowled 21 overs. Becoming a recurring theme this season especially in the oppositions first innings. Looks like Colly has lost a bit of faith which is not a good sign for a young spinner.

be waiting for some better weather, harder tracks in late June when teams are on the back foot then ease him in that way.

They could probably get away with that in the past especially when Blackwell was in the side, but this is a an international bowler who is the premier spinner at the club and a 19 year old academy player who is making his debut.
They are probably trying to protect him but i remember Shane Warne talking about his younger days and saying how important the support and belief of a captain is to a young leg spinner.

Another quality day of Durham Cricket. To skittle them for 237 from 221-4 is some effort. Looks as though the spinners will have a big say in this one. 40 of the 82 overs in their innings was spin, and with 7 wickets falling to the twirlers it looks like its a bit of a Bunsen :lol:.

If we can knuckle down and stick in tomorrow, build partnerships and wait for the bad ball we could perhaps get to a very valuable lead. I'd say anything over 350 wins us the game (weather permitting).

. Can't help feeling that Mr Vithushan Ehantharajah is slightly biased towards Surrey mind. Maybe I'm blinkered but it seems he's keen to dismiss Buckley's efforts as (shall we say) fortuitous....... Maybe I'm being harsh like but that's how I've perceived it. One thing that is certain though is that the kid must have been doing something right to bowl right through the middle session.

Also in that article is a mention of a pitch inspector looking at the surface at Close of play. Of course I've not seen the track but you'd have to imagine it must be fine. I mean its hardly as if 18 wickets have fallen in a day. I'd say its much more likely that poor shots and accurate bowling were the cause of the wickets. Unless he's unhappy that they're using an old track??

We'll probably hear more tomorrow.
