A few people have said this but I'm not sure its feasible.

Any new spectator area would require a safety cert from the local authorities, and a grassy bank wouldn't meet any health and safety regs, so that ones a non starter.

If Durham want to continue hosting International cricket then they have to embrace the ECB's vision of fully enclosed seated grounds, which are not to everyones liking but it's the only way forward.

Shame, because it would add loads of character to the ground, but if it meant no more international games then obviously it can't be done.

I just don't get how this kind of thing can be allowed to go on. It's basically a bribe. Basically the ECB have auctioned off the Ashes Tests...... Bent bastards. The Tests should go to the best 5 grounds, end of.

I'm starting to think the best thing for DCCC is this Test to be over. After that we can get on with existing as a County Cricket Club.
