Looks like Rudolph was just speculation

That seems a fair assessment to me.A mid-table finish for us I reckon. Maybe flirt with relegation a little too.
With those 3 gone and only Jennings in we will have space within the cap...if the cash is there of course
I get the feeling there is going to be a lot more reducing of the wage bill over the next 12 to 24 months. Don't think they will be going anywhere near the maximum salary cap for a few years. Any senior players who are out of contract at the end of a season and not performing in the first team will be out.
Looks like the squad could resemble the way it was 10 years ago with a squad made up of lots local youngsters with a few senior pros.

The cap should really be measured over say a 3 year period, else these contract log jam situations are going to occur....
most of the expensive contracts would have been signed before the cap too I'd assume?
I think there was a bit of flexibility allowed at first but the crack was we were way over the top and had been warned more than once about it.
Thing is, if Notts and Warks can have the teams they have and operate within the cap then we should be able to too. Issue obviously is people like Harmison on mega bucks for playing second team cricket. Plunkett last season too, but of course that should've eased this year.
Looking forward to the young lads getting a good crack of the whip though.
