Has he now done enough to displace Bresnan? Or will they persist with Bresnan cos he can 'bat a bit'?

Finn every day for me, mind.

We're lucky to have 4 high class seamers who all bring something different. Finn is the man in possession and bowled superbly in the last game with his extra height and pace troubling most of the Saffers. He and Broad should be a great combination and both have plenty of time on their sides.

Keep Finn in.

My "new" team

James Vince
Cook
Strauss
Trott
Bell
Bairstow
Prior
Swann
Tremlett
Finn
Anderson.

12th man. Josh Butler. really like this explosive wicketkeeper/batsman

"It may be an even better side, it's one of those things where a talented player is being replaced by another talented player. So why should we miss a certain individual because he's unavailable for selection?"

Mine:

Root
Cook
Trott
Taylor
Bell
Bairstow
Prior
Swann
Broad
Anderson
Finn

Next batsman in line: Hildreth/Compton

Next bowler in line: Meaker

Onions would have been our best bowler at Lords. Like Philander it suited bowlers that bowl very straight and get a little movement.

Who would you have dropped? I agree with you on onions. I like him. Finn, Tremlett, Onions and Anderson is a potent attack like. All bring something differnt to the table. I would drop Swan and Broad.

Shortest tail ever? All of them are practically number 11's man.

We need to be more flexible with our bowlers depending on the conditions IMO

It appears that Broad and Anderson will play regardless of whether the conditions suit and I dont necessarily think thats the best policy.

Remember when we used to play Matthew 'useless after the 10th over' Hoggard in the subcontinent?

Horses for course mate. I agree that it does look a long tail like with those four. But the batsmen should get the runs and the bowlers the wickets. Our fabled long batting lineup with bressan, broad, and swann have hardly helped us this series has it?
